the god of thieves sprints through virgo: part 1

Mercury moves into Virgo on Friday, August 15th and will be there just over 2 weeks until  Monday, September 1st.

The Messenger of the Gods is comfortable in Virgo, a sign that he rules.

Mercury is strong here.

While in Leo, it was all passionate speaking and creative thinking, but now our minds get to switch gears.  Virgo Mercury is analytical and rational.  She processes and communicates with sagacious integrity and insists on only conveying accurate information.  She delves into the details and comes up with a fine-tuned ordered system.

For the next 2 weeks, words will come easier than at other times, since Virgo Mercury energy is one of the wordsmith.  If a crisis should arise, you may also notice that you have the ability to stay somewhat more level-headed, which is another trait of this mercurial Maiden.

Mercury’s journey through Virgo is not going to be a quiet affair.  Around the 18th of August, he falls into opposition with Neptune in Pisces.  Both these planets are in signs they rule, so it will be an agreeable interaction.  We can expect  dreamier, more imaginative ideas and concerns bubbling up wherever in your chart is being activated by this dynamic. Transiting oppositions act as a bridge from one house to another. So, Neptune’s magical attributes can be brought across your chart to your Virgo house.  Although with anything Neptunian, there runs the risk of confusion, but since Ms. Virgo Mercury is so well equipped to sort through the fine details, this shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Then a couple of days later the 21st, Mercury comes into trine aspect with Pluto in Capricorn.  Virgo and Capricorn are both earth signs, therefore this energy configuration is another freely flowing one.  Mercury in aspect with transformative Pluto will have us thinking about the current state of the house involved with a push toward more reliable, efficient means of operation.

On the 24th of August, our God of Travel  traverses into a quagmire of astrological pushes and pulls.  He will oppose Chiron from Pisces, which may bring up old wounds giving us an opportunity to confront our own negative internal voice to make room for healing—a definite higher function of the Virgo/Pisces axis.

But that is not nearly all on Hermes’ roster for the day.  He will be sextiling the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, while all 3 planets inconjunct Uranus in Aries, creating a Yod aspect.  Yods are special formations that do not happen very often, so I want to devote a post totally to this event.  That will come early next week.

All these interchanges happen within a couple of weeks and will quickly flow from one mode of information intake/outtake exchange to another.  Virgo is a mutable sign and therefore able to adapt.  Like I stated before, Mercury is strong here.  He will be able to keep up and organize things clearly.  Wherever this is occurring in your chart, you will have the chance to think quickly on your feet and categorize pertinent information into whatever mode needed.

As for myself, during his time in Virgo, Mercury will travel through my 10th and 11th Houses, and conjunct my natal Mercury at the end of Virgo.  I will most likely be thinking and communicating a lot about this blog and further spreading its reach—10th/11th House activities.  I am most interested in what the Yod formation and Mercury’s opposition to Chiron from my 6th House brings to the surface with regard to this blog.
