on deck for the weekend—another fiercely lazy one—may 29th – 31st

Edward-Robert-Hughes-Painting-022All weekend, the Gemini Sun conjunct Mercury Rx will square Pisces Neptune, while sextiling/trining the Nodal Axis in Libra/Aries.

We aren’t gonna want to do anything—except drink and socialize with friends—if it’s not too much bother, of course.

And with all this Mutable energy splattered over the place, things may get a little sloppy.

Yikes.

Today, the waxing Moon gets zapped from all sides (opposes Uranus, squares Pluto and Venus, sextiles Jupiter), so there is plenty to talk about. Luna is still in Libra—so, we definitely want to interact with others and shoot the shit as the energy builds for next week’s Full Moon.

But tomorrow, she moves into Scorpio and the intensity amps up. We will want to hang with only the chosen few in our circles. Nice and intimate, like.

Sunday, again Luna dances with many—Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto and Chiron.  Lots of Water to keep the emotions running high, with a dash of Fire to steam up the embers of the eighth sign.

This one may have us party hard at first, but see us retreating into our own safety zone’s by weekend’s end.

sun into gemini—words, people, WORDS!!!!—may 21st – june 21st

Well, the Sun moved from Taurus to Gemini last Thursday.

george-barbier-le-jour-et-la-nuit-1100-331I have only now been able to get a post out about it.

Could it be due the fact the newly ingressed Sun immediately opposed Sagittarius Saturn Rx (delays and frustration) after his transition? Or could it be the havoc Gemini Mercury Retrograde is having on my already precarious internet connectivity grip here at my current location?

Anyway.

The Sun has now joined Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, and Mars in the third sector of the zodiac.

Mutable Air. An intellectual sign, whose sigil is the Twins—Castor and Pollux.

There is a duality to all the Air signs and our Gemini is characterised as literally two people. Castor is the earth bound brother, while Pollux is the deified immortal. Things will take on this biformity as the solar month continues. It will be hard to miss.

Also, hard to miss is the resurgence of Gemini’s shiny—ah, let me explain.

Lovers of astrology know every sign has a “shiny”—that thing which simply, unfailingly, lights their kind ablaze.

And Gemini’s shiny is WORDS. Lovely alphabets arranged to make glorious language.

For the last few weeks, I have been struck with how old words appear reborn in their power and strength, while other, strange, unknown words manifest from nowhere as if I am witnessing the creation of a neonatal galaxy.

week ahead—everyone’s OK!—may 26th – 28th

As we go back to the daily grind from the holiday weekend, we find the Moon is still solid in Virgo, Gemini Mars moves to conjunct MercuryRx and Cancer Venus gets ready to trine Pisces Chiron. We still are under the effects of painting-by-george-frederic-watts-at-watts-gallery-surrey-conde-nast-traveller-26jan15-prthe Jupiter/Pluto inconjunct; Venus squaring Uranus; Mars/Mercury squaring Neptune.

This is very much a day of limbo—many things are just slightly off from exact. Precise does not characterize today, much to the chagrin of our waxing Virgo Moon.

Wednesday, is a busy one AND we have the energy to be when Mars and Mercury meet up.

But dang it! Pesky Merc Retch just may frustrate us, A LOT. And, to be honest, the day may be a wash, anyway, for Luna goes VOC before dawn and stays that way till evening when she moves to Libra. Finish things, don’t start them.

Anyhoo, our minds are very active and if it’s mental work we need to do—with pen and paper—we may just be alright.

And for the Venus/Chiron contribution to the week—well, there will be a magnificent feeling of ‘I’m OK, you’re OK!’ For when Water feels good (and trines feel good), we feel accepted and loved, unconditionally. Not a time to grapple with low esteem and body hatred—we’ll see straight through that B.S.!!!!

Thank goodness!

Thursday, sees residuals from the day before while Luna traverses the sign of the Scales. She zaps the Nodal Axis while trining the boys in Gemini—we’ll be thinking of the future of important relationships and how we can maintain the passion.

Love all around!

for the long weekend—mirth and maelstrom—may 22nd – 25th

me55-burne-jones-the-knights-and-the-briar-roseThe Cancer Moon trined Pisces Chiron early this morning (about 1AM)—giving us potentially sweet, sweet dreams through the night. She is now Void of Course, remaining so till suppertime.

The Sun moved to Gemini yesterday and is currently locked in an opposition with Sagittarius Saturn Rx. How we interact with authority figures, especially about issues of communication and education will be highlighted.

This, Mercury Rx and a VOC Moon make the last day of our workweek a bit stressful—blah, it will keep till Tuesday. Do the best you can.

Tomorrow, the Moon is in shiny Leo interacting with all the planets in vivacious Gemini (Sun/Mars/Mercury) eventually to conjunct Jupiter, then trine zany Aries Uranus on Sunday.

This makes the weekend proper a skip in a budding spring meadow. Leo is happy and fun and it will definitely show!

And then we get to Monday.

Cancer Venus will square Aries Uranus while the Moon travels through Virgo creating a rolling Mutable Grand Square and Grand Cross with Saturn, the boys in Gemini and Neptune.

Fitful excitable day. We won’t know whether we want to read something, clean something, lecture someone or just get drunk instead. Before the day is done, we will probably partake in all of it!!!

It will be a bizarre vibe to remember our veterans under, but not so bad to have a backyard BBQ.

Or just go see Mad Max another time, like me.

only if you want it—jupiter inconjunct pluto—may 21st

Mikalojus_Konstantinas_Ciurlionis_-_FAIRY_TALE_II_-_1907Well, today the quincunx between Leo Jupiter and Capricorn Pluto Rx exacts at 15° 16′.

I still have a brutal headache from seeing 3-D Fury Road on Tuesday—so, I’m gonna keep it short. (If you haven’t seen this yet, DO NOT MISS IT!!!!)

So, an inconjunct is an aspect that must be implemented manually—it’s at your disposal if you care to partake, otherwise it sits lingering as a faint whisper.

Jupiter and Pluto together can be summed up in two words—confidence and power.

These guys have been inching together for over a week now, the effect is strongest today and will remain palpable for another week.

Coupled with the intensity of today’s Cancer Moon/Venus conjunction opposing Pluto along the quintessential Cardinal axis, the Universe is screaming:

Fake it till you make it!!!

Can do.

tools for the vulnerability—gemini mercury retrograde—may 18th – june 11th

girl-readingSo, Mercury is retrograde again. And again in an Air sign.

The usual is to be expected—unexpected communication, technical, logistical, mechanical glitches.

But the bigger picture of every Mercury retrograde (and this one especially, I feel, since the Messenger God rules Gemini!!!) is a need for each one of us to get good and comfortable with three huge lessons—patience, resolve and faith.

The patience to sit still while things fall a little apart. The resolve to try again in a few minutes. The faith that whatever mess is made can surely be cleaned up.

Easy to write and read; harder to practice, yeah? Well, our Mutable Air sign isn’t leaving us completely vulnerable. Nope, we get presents!!!!

week ahead—scattered, but so what!!—may 18th – 21st

Arthur-Rackham-Illustration-036We wake today with a waxing Moon in Gemini after last night’s Taurus New Moon.

Ok, so there are three general events for the week—the Moon working her way through the third and fourth signs, Mercury going retrograde (today around 10PM EST) and the Sun ingressing to the sign of the Twins.

Yep. The majority goes down in Gemini.  Mutable Air.

An intellectual, flighty, witty, superficial zone, full of bright ideas and irony.

Today and tomorrow, the Moon will oppose Saturn, conjunct Mars and Mercury and sextile Uranus. With this and the retrograde, our minds will be scattered to the winds—BUT SO WHAT!!!!

It is a wonderful couple of days to brainstorm in high Gemini fashion, not insisting on a death grip of control. For when Luna moves to Cancer on Wednesday, the need for control will amp up, exponentially. And that’s OK, too.

A Cancer Moon is strong and touchy feely Water will drench us all as she conjuncts Venus and interacts with each and every outer planet Titan in a succession of fierce Cardinal mothering.

Geez!! How and what we nurture will take center stage!

This gives us a brief respite from all things Gemini, for the Sun ingresses Thursday morning almost precisely as the Leo Jupiter/Capricorn Pluto Rx quincunx exacts. More on both later.

Ah, Gemini—Spring’s malleable harbinger of Summer.

just enough is plenty—taurus new moon—may 18th

This evening, shortly after midnight, the Sun and Moon conjunct at almost 27° Taurus.

the-fruit-bearers-Taurus is Fixed Earth.

Solid and true. Stubborn and predictable. Abundant, sometimes greedy.

The two Luminaries make no major aspects with another planet, thus standing alone in their union—completely appropriate.

But hours before they exact, Luna trines Capricorn Pluto Rx and squares Leo Jupiter—bringing more Earth and more Fixed energy into the equation. (Jupiter and Pluto are currently quincunxing, preparing to exact on the 21st—more on that later.)

On her own, Taurus cares deeply about stability, longevity and bounty. But with the above celestial additions, issues of trust and security become paramount in tonight’s event. There will be a near obsessive questioning of how much is enough?

And do I have it?

Love. Health. Friends. Joy. Money. Food. Laughter.

Yes, the area this Lunation occurs in your natal is probably keeping you awake at night of late—nevermind if you have planets or points at the exact degree.

Scary business when fundamental surety is lacking.

We all know life is never a sure thing, but it still worries us from time to time—and some more than others and in very different ways and at different times!!!

Ok, so how to calm these fears using tonight’s Taurean energy? Well, it is quite simple, really—ritual and routine.

Start one!

The more personal and innocent the better—make it your own inside joke with the universe! A mini-prayer and promise that things are gonna be OK.

The Bull is slow and steadfast—the simple act of lighting a candle or brewing a cup of tea (or whatever!!) when certain fears surface, then doing it over and over, day after day, will pacify the demons and ground the spirit.

Will it fix the problem—uhmm, NO!! But it will center your resolve to carry on and carrying on is the Bull’s bread and butter!

Happy New Moon, ya’ll!

for the weekend—roadblocks and resources—may 15th – 17th

Today, Gemini Mars opposes Sagittarius Saturn Rx—the atmosphere will be intellectually nervous with obstacle after obstacle popping up to stand in our way.

None of our attempts at action will go according to plan—best rethink the master scheme a bit or simply wait for better days.

Good thing it’s Friday, huh?  (Unless, of course, if it’s not your Friday.)

While Mars and Saturn go at it, the waning Aries Moon gets bolstered from a sextile with flighty Mercury and a trine from enthusiastic Jupiter but later she is slammed with a square from intense Pluto and a conjunction to erratic Uranus.

The day will feel like a nip of gin—burns but somehow warms, upturns but somehow steadies, calms but somehow excites—ALL AT ONCE!!!

Tomorrow is much better, for Cancer Venus trines Pisces Neptune—a lovely Water balm to ease frustration!

Although we will still be contending with the thwarted effects of the day before, it won’t matter that much since the vibe will seem so smoothly EMOTIONALLY transcendent.

And Sunday sees Luna in Taurus trudging along her way to the New Moon shortly after midnight Monday.

She sextiles both Neptune and Chiron and squares Jupiter—bringing a healing/spiritual dynamic to the Lunation as well as, unfortunately, a feeling of enough is NEVER enough.

I will dig deeper into that in an upcoming post.

Alright.

our warrior in mutable air— may 11th – june 24th

Well, this past Monday evening Mars left Taurus for Gemini.

He has spent the last two and a half months in the “newest” sector of the zodiac—the raw birthing of baby Aries, the girl-sitting-upset-in-a-chair-illustration-by-jessie-willcox-smithhoarding of toys and friends in toddler Taurus and now the precocious kindergartener of Gemini.

Yes, endless questions and triumphant answers.

Sass, insatiable inquisitivity and an undying inability to sit still.

Your average 5 year old.

Mars Gemini!

Under the desires of Mutable Air, we’ll live for the debate and excel at the technical for a little over a month—or at least whichever house Mars is traveling will get a boost of this energy.

Gemini Mars won’t have the singularity of purpose such as we’ve seen with the God of War’s sojourn in Taurus. Nope, our activities may seem scattered to the winds and a strong undercurrent of ADHD will overtake many. This will frustrate some and simply influence most in the workings of our coming days.

But our sarcastic streaks will blaze with fury. Quick with the one-liners, too smart for our own damn good!

Yes, yes, we’ll be buzzing to and fro and with Mercury set to go retro on the 18th, it should be easy to align our thoughts with our actions for many weeks to come!

Not a bad affair really.
