Wow! Just wow! Four months, people. FOUR! MONTHS!

weekend augury—happy, happy, joy, joy!—june 5th – 7th

WoutiersTheTriumphofBacchusKHMIt’s looking to be a wonderfully positive couple days!! Nothing but trines and sextiles (oh, ok, a couple oppositions, too)!!

Today, lovely Venus moves to big-hearted Leo—where she stays for the summer due to her retrograde. Lucky us! And the Capricorn Moon makes a few final aspects before becoming VOC for the remainder of the day.

All weekend, Gemini Mars approaches a conjunction with the Sun, while sextiling both Jupiter and Uranus—Fire and Air!! All will brighten and we will have plenty of confidence to work and maybe party! This configuration becomes tightest Monday but we surely benefit now, too.

Tomorrow the Moon has moved to Aquarius to oppose Venus, then trine Gemini Mercury Rx. For her part, Venus trines Saturn Rx in Sadge. We’ll feel stable but also extravagantly sincere in our day-to-day emotional dealings. Fire fanned by the winds of Air.

Also Saturday, the Gemini Sun quincunxes Capricorn Pluto adding depth and intensity to Gemini’s fluttering mental gymnastics—great for conversations and such.

Sunday, sees Luna livin’ big with a sextile from Jupiter and Uranus AND trining the Sun & Mars. Aquarius loves the people and engaging socially will be a no-brainer under this influence!!

The Moon then goes VOC for the evening, so we can relax and ready for the work week.

Good times.

venus in the sign of the crab—may 7th – june 5th

Thursday night, Venus went from Gemini to Cancer.

Art-Nouveau-Painting-010

spitting image of cersei lannister!!

While in the Cardinal Water sign, things are gonna get moody and insecure—

Darn! I probably shouldn’t lead with the bad stuff, but there you have it.

Water is pure emotion and there is no one (ok, yes, Scorpio and Pisces) as emotional as Cancer. So, much so, her sigil is the Crab—gotta have a safe place to feel alllllllll the multitude of feels—hey, how ’bout I carry my bomb shelter on my back, so it’s ALWAYS there if and when I need to hide!!!! And like the larger home of the crab, her moods match the rising and ebbing tides of the sea—up and down, up and down, up and down . . . into infinity.

Cancer is also Cardinal, so control is high on the priority list. She’s a mover and shaker and won’t stand for much getting in her way. Sensitive she may be, but she also means business. The Crab is the sign of the Mother. She symbolizes the primal power that creates life—whether in the delivery room or as an entrepeneur.

Positively, all her sensitivity can be directed toward her babies (whatever form they take) making no other sign (except maybe Virgo) capable of giving fundamental care and attention. She will feel what her progeny requires in her bones, as if it were her own need. The courageous little Crab will move oceans and scale mountains to provide for those in her charge.

She is loyal and tenacious. There is none other that will remain by your side through thick and thin—ever present and ready to give love and support. She knows all too well how gentle and vulnerable her underbelly is, so there is little she will allow (Cardinal don’t play) to harm herself or her little ones.

She will cut a bitch!!!

This doesn’t mean her loyalties are necessarily well placed, only that they are there and AIN’T goin’ no where!!!

So, folks these are the themes sweet, sweet Venus will be drawing to us now until the beginning of June—devotion, protection, determination, enterprise.

Yeah!

for the weekend—earth and water/father and mother—may 8th – 10th

During the next couple, there is a significant slew of Water and Earth, combined with a common thread of the child-with-north-wind-illustration-by-jessie-willcox-smith-782x1024Mother/Father running throughout.

Nurturance and discipline. Genesis and tradition. Roots and legacy.

Yesterday, the Moon moved into Capricorn (the Father) and last night. Venus moved from Gemini to Cancer (the Mother), while Mars and the Sun continue to rock ‘n roll in Taurus.

Yes, yes, that’s lots of Earth, but, other than Cancer, where’s the Water?

Well,  uber (UBER!!) maleable Gemini Mercury squares Pisces Neptune—taking on all the aqueous traits the God of the Sea has to offer—to round out the Earth/Water dynamic! A lovely pure expression of Water since both planets are in the signs of their rulerships.

So, it’s a litany of the Cardinal parental axis (Cancer/Capricorn) with Fixed Earth (Taurus Sun and Mars) fueled by loosey goosey Mutable Neptune/Mercury (sopping wet Water).

Although today (Friday), may at times seem far too intense for comfort (Moon conjunct Pluto trine Sun), our impetus to connect with others will be highlighted. And tomorrow, our emotions will bolster our real-world activities (Moon trine Mars)—happily rolling through the day’s paces.

Again, the Father/Mother diad will surface on Saturday, as Cancer Venus inconjuncts Sagittarius Saturn in the final dance of their I/O/Q cycle.

Then by Sunday, Luna has moved to Aquarius and trines Gemini Mercury, making all our holiday plans with Mom smart and sassy in witty intellectual Air fashion.

Oh, how Mamas are gonna love their brilliant offspring!!!

These are the themes our emotions will gear toward (for the next couple days) and what experiences we will begin to attract to us (till Venus leaves for Leo), all while steadfastly (read: stubbornly—all that masculine Taurus, baby!!!) continuing on our merry Springtime way.

Lazy shapeshifters if we wanna be (Mercury square Neptune), too!

Happy Mother’s Day, ya’ll!!!

week ahead—recuperation and levity—may 4th – 7th

Since last night’s Full Moon, the sultry Scorpio Moon has rolled on to sextile Cappy Pluto, trine Pisces Chiron and WB2_0022_She-was-the-Queen-of-them-alloppose Taurus Mars, thus continuing the theme of yesterday’s Beltane—uncover the damage then set about repairing it.

Later tonight, Luna will then go Void of Course and remain so until Tuesday morning, when she crosses into Sagittarius and immediately conjuncts Saturn Rx while opposing Gemini Mercury.

We spend the day reconciling what our hearts want vs. what our minds reassure us we really need. With Saturn in the mix, our minds will probably carry the day, but Sagittarius is so enthusiastic and spirited we won’t be butt-hurt about it for long.

Wednesday is the busiest of the week, where the Taurus Sun trines Capricorn Pluto Rx—again reminiscent of the Full Moon vibe, only with tons of solid Earth energy to maintain a proper cadence. For the day, our waning Fire Moon lets off steam with squares to Pisces Neptune then Chiron, as well as gets a chipper boost from Leo Jupiter and Aries Uranus.

There will be little that could pull us down, our spirits will be absolutely irrepressible!

Then on Thursday, the Moon opposes Gemini Venus at the anaretic 29°. Emotions will be excessive, but Luna’s ultimate pass into Capricorn will certainly put the kibosh on the dramatics. This is the final aspect lovely Venus makes before she enters Cancer that evening. More later.

Alright, as we recuperate from the Full Flower Moon, a jolly Sadge Moon isn’t too shabbby a cohort to let the waning waters find stable level again. Not bad at all.

Enjoy your week.

brainpower!!—venus into gemini—april 11th – may 7th

Today, Saturday, April 11th, dear Venus moves from Fixed Earth, Taurus, to Mutable Air, Gemini.

Arthur-Foord-Hughes-A-lady-reading-while-playing-the-spinet1Aphrodite rules the second sign, meaning she was in her element (hee hee!) during her stay in Taurus. Now, she has moved on to Mercury’s turf.

Really, this isn’t such a bad transition—since the two deities work rather well together. Mercury is the brains and Venus is the looks, so to speak.

But, now for the next three and a half weeks, the Goddess of Love gets to don her thinking cap and go all mental.

Gemini Venus is smart. Very smart. She is well read and precocious. She needs to flex her intellectual muscles the way Aries Mars needs to flex his actual physical muscles. Her mind is what makes her so attractive AND what she uses to attract others and situations to her.

She craves stimulation. Doing four things at once makes her happy. Listening to the radio and watching TV while writing a term paper puts her at ease. She wants to surround herself with those who can keep up and help her exhaust Mutable Air’s constant cerebral fires. (But if you think this placement is hyper, just wait til Mercury gets here in May!!!)

Yep, Gemini Venus’ energy is boundless—this lady can chat your ear off. She is interesting and interested in her surroundings. She is a bit of a know-it-all but truly appreciates those who can challenge and educate her the most. She is well-rounded and knows quite a lot about most subjects.  She is in love with ideas but loves communicating them even more. She wants to be in the know and suffers when the flow of information is blocked.

There are a few things to watch out for during this time, such as superficiality—Gemini flints across the surface of ALL things, there is little time left to dig deep. Gossip is another flaw of this celestial area. Can you blame them, really?  EVERYTHING is just so damn fascinating and it NEEDS to be discussed!

Alright.

So, there you have it, guys. For almost the next month, we get to turn up the brain power—Venusian style.

and for the weekend—moving to the cerebral—april 10th – 12th

edward-burne-jones-4-the-golden-stairsWell, today, Mercury exacts his conjunction with the Aries Sun at 20° and then skadaddles right on past.

This lends a purity to the overall vibe of the weekend.  Our minds and conscious will are one and the same. No conflict, no divergent agendas—just straight up Aries!!!

Couple the above Cardinal Fire with the Moon traveling almost extensively through Cardinal Earth Capricorn for the next 3 days and just cold hard decisive action will characterize the atmosphere.

Saturday, lovely Venus moves from Taurus to Gemini. This marks a shift from lazy luxury to a desire for mental stimulation. Our Earthy senses relinquish control and the Airy workings of the intellect take over.

Fire Mercury and Air Venus—great for conversation and social mingling!

Then, Taurus Mars and Pisces Neptune sextile on Sunday for a pleasant boost to all the work the Warrior has been steady at the last week and a half. Water aids Earth with insights into imagination and emotional know-how. Duty won’t feel so heavy, as Neptune’s fog dissolves a bit of the burden for the day.

By and large, the weekend is one of the mind with a thrust toward getting tangible results.

singing a ballad of spring—venus into taurus—march 17th – april 11th

display_imageVenus is leaving Aries for Taurus today.

Her departure breaks up the Fire stellium that has gotten our blood pumping the last few weeks. Now, it is on to the Fixed Earth sign for the Goddess of Love—a sign she rules.

Since Mars remains in the sign he rules, Aries, the two are now in places they are very comfortable—things will feel as it should.

Just right.

The thawing ice and snow is being replaced with the first chilly bike rides of the year. The sun feels a bit warmer and shines ever brighter.

Aphrodite’s three week sojourn in the second sign will have us thinking of flowers buds and sprouting veggie seeds. Afternoon-long dog walks by the river. Any excuse to get our hands and feet in the dirt. Fresh air in our lungs.

We will feel the need to get our bodies prepared for summer—shedding our layers and relishing the pleasure getting our fashions just so brings. Taurus is Venusian, therefore maintaining a certain appearance is requisite to feeling vital. And not just for our physical form, our home decor will benefit exponentially from the Goddess of Love’s ardent command.

Yes, today, as Venus moves into her new position, she will be accompanied by the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune in Pisces at 8º. The melding of these planets gives us transient poetic and photographic genius—it would be wise to take a camera and pen & paper on your excursions outdoors.

Collectively, we will find it ever easier to harness nature’s terrific beauty. Capture what you see and feel in image and verse. It will be magical.

Happy Venusian adventures and happy St. Paddy’s Day.

the masculine and feminine on fire—mars & venus into aries

who is the artist?????

who is the artist? —–> Zdzislaw Beksinski

Friday the 20th, Mars and Venus ingressed and conjuncted at 0º of Aries.

Thus a new cycle begins among astrology’s most interesting pair, the God of War and Goddess of Love.

Their passage from Pisces to Aries not only threatens the arrival of Spring in a number of short weeks but is very special due to degree and sign involved.

Alright, to start, I will discuss the sign of Aries and what it means to have planets here, then I’ll get on to the peremptory conjunction.

the lady takes a dip—jan. 27th – feb. 20th

Tomorrow morning, the 27th, the Goddess of Love joins the God of War in the sign of the Fishes.

Warwick-Goble-Vintage-Illustration-067Venus is very comfortable in the watery embrace of Pisces. Here she can fully surrender. Become lost in all that has come before and all that will ever be.

One of the Planet of Love’s roles in astrology is to attract people and experiences to us, according to the zodiac sign she is traveling through.

In Aquarius, she was seeking the original rebellion coupled with the idealistic reformation.

Now, she has moved on to Mutable Water and nears the other side. She is readying herself to drift beyond the Neptunian veil, to dissolve into the mist. To slip untroubled into the nothing.

Oh, alright, but, Lona, what does any of that really mean?

Well, for one thing our hearts get a bit softer and we can become more empathetic to our surroundings. Soaking up the whims and fancies of others who cross our paths. This may be a positive if you are a hard-hearted doer. Or it may prove precarious if you already grapple with over-sensitivity.

Indeed, poetic kindness and fluid grace may render us more vulnerable than usual—again if it is needed, then so be it. Otherwise, the next 3 1/2 weeks may prove troublesome (only to become fundamentally more hazy when the Sun ingresses on February 18th).

Another potential could be that our imaginations become a glittery fog of seraphic musings. Creativity engulfs us in a daydream shawl of mystical romanticism. Beautiful wisps of meaning traced into the fabrics of our collective psyches.

It could be a gentle time or one of needed extra self-protection. Trust yourself to know which side you fall. Trust also that the people and experiences required to fulfill the murky requests of the Fishes will be drawn to you and yours.

During the final days of Winter, Pisces is the tender succor which alleviates much of the season’s icy grip and floats us softly toward Spring.
