you zig, then i’ll zag—venus into aquarius—jan 3rd

The Goddess of Love and Beauty leaves Capricorn this Saturday, January 3rd, for the Fixed Air sign, Aquarius and will remain there until the 27th.

January and February are the coldest months of the year—not just weather wise but also astrologically.

Let me explain:  Capricorn and his succeeding sign, Aquarius are not the best with the feels. The Goat prefers practical results on the material plane—this is how he shows love and caring. Likewise with the Water Bearer, the feels are all in the mind. Discussing and brainstorming radical concepts are how they demonstrate friendship and acceptance.

So, from the time all the worker bees make their exodus from Sagittarius between Thanksgiving and Christmas until they all congregate in Pisces come the end of February—the feels are gonna be frozen solid.

Chilly, aloof, detached.

Aquarius.

december 10th—our composed lady on the hoof

Well, well, well, tomorrow, December 10th, at almost precisely Noon EST, Venus will be ingressing from Sagittarius to Capricorn.

Cardinal Earth.

How does the Planet of Love fare in this environment? And more importantly, how will WE fare with her here?

Honestly, I think she is perfect for this time of year.

She will help soothe the fiery bluntness of Sagittarius Sun and Mercury and lend a stabilizing force to the off-the-wall schemes of Aquarius Mars.

Venus is our planet of socializing and attraction. She (along with Luna) is our resident master of the feminine mysteries.

Her moving through the 10th sign of the Goat signals a desire to be in control. And, being ruled by Saturn, she intrinsically knows how to plan, organize and execute all the multitude of festivities happening right now.

Venus Capricorn is all business, but with the grace of femininity needed to soften the edges and create a jubilant ambiance.

Her recent journeys through Virgo and Libra give clue to how she will feel to us during her Capricorn stay.  The Goat has Virgo’s Earthy practicality, as well as Libra’s Cardinal nose for initiative.

It is the best of both worlds combined to help us juggle the wrapping presents and long commutes and endless decorating.  The disastrous changes of schedule and maddening family relations.

Aphrodite will remain in the 10th sign until January 3rd, so even New Year’s will be under her precise care.

She is a gift from the Heavens.  One that will potentially alleviate some of our holiday stress.

just a lady with perfect aim

ladywaterfallOn November 16th, Venus moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius. Our lovely Goddess will remain here until the 10th of December.

Alright, the Planet of Love has been intertwined with the Sun for weeks now. When she steps across the cusp from the 8th to the 9th sign of the Archer, I will consider them ‘unconjunct’.

While in Scorpio, Venus was dark and sultry. Emotions ran high and the stakes ran higher.

But now she moves to the sign of the Archer and things are going to get a little more chipper!

Yay!

october 23rd—bathing in burgundy

Thursday, October 23rd at around 5PM, the Sun, Venus and Moon together move into the Fixed Water sign of Scorpio, creating a Partial Solar Eclipse at 0°. This marks the answer to the Total Lunar Eclipse earlier this month.

If you have planets or points at the first degrees of the Water or Fixed signs—yep, pay attention!

Regardless, whichever house this activates will be of special importance at this time.

We have been in a delightfully simmering limbo since the eclipse of 8th of October and now there will be somewhat of a release.

I say ‘somewhat’ for this is a New Moon.  And at this time, we are setting intentions for the Full Moon in two weeks.

So, there will be no cataclysmic eruption of energy, but rather the undulating leap frogging of chronological astrological events that are working to rhythmically nudge us toward our necessary futures. The universe is kindly but sternly showing us the way.

Very well.

What exactly does all this Scorpio energy have to offer us?

september 29—nice, nicer, nicest

Venus is the Goddess of Attraction and Relating.  Libra, an Air sign, is ruled by Venus, these qualities are his bread and butter.

On Monday, Aphrodite will move from Virgo to the 7th sign of Libra.  Both Virgo Venus and Libra Venus  are finely elegant ladies, the latter is simply more comfortable, nay insists upon more,  flirting and chatting.  Virgo Venus’ main goal was to attract health, diet and exercise into the conversation.

Now there is a change—we will attract harmony, fairness and grace to our relationships at this time.  Where it felt good to take care of our routines in Virgo, it is now going to feel good to take care of our partnerships through pleasing the other with the Planet of Love’s ingress into Libra.

So, shall we get acquainted with the Goddess of Beauty here in the first sign above the Descendant?

Ok, one way to get our heads around this lovely deity is to understand that Venus also rules Taurus.

What, might you ask, is the primary difference between Libra and the 2nd sign?

Well, it is the difference between Earth and Air.  Taurus rules money and possessions—our value as earners and merit through self-esteem and self-worth.  Cold hard cash and solid confidence (Taurus) vs.  intangibles such as popularity and social decorum.  Libra also rules possessions of  a kind.  But they are the relational variety.  Libra Venus’ worth is intricately tied to the wealth he feels or not in the exchanges of sentiment and cerebral ideas with others—family, friends, partners, the stranger at the grocery store.

Venus rules what makes us happy.  Libra rules diplomacy and marriage—keeping the peace and balancing the needs of both partners in a coupling.  Libra Venus needs pleasant interaction and intimate connecting with others to stay in balance herself.

Man, she just wants everyone to be nice and happy and most of all to like HER!!

While in Libra, Venus will catch up with the Sun by mid-October and spend nearly a month cutting a rug through the signs of Libra and Scorpio with the Luminary.  It will be double or nothing hobnobbing, social niceties will be at their peak.  Libra needs to mend shattered connections and bring fairness to situations where justice is lacking.

And boy, is she ever good at it!

No other sign is made or broken by relational success or discord.  Peaceful bonds with the other are of utmost importance and we will all gravitate in the upcoming weeks to this mantra.

september 5th—lady venus gives us a makeover

The Goddess of Love and Money will ingress into Virgo on Friday, September 5th.  She will stay in the sign of the Harvest until September 29th.

While in Virgo she will make major aspects with all the planets past the Asteroid Belt (except Jupiter, whom she partied with last month in Leo) along the way.

Venus in Virgo is very different from Venus in Leo.  Fire is passion, Earth is pragmatism.  Virgo doesn’t want the spotlight like Leo, she wants to be of meaningful service.

Our Goddess in the 6th sign is humble and self-effacing.  She is down to earth and loyal.  She works hard so you will appreciate her and suffers if she cannot be of assistance to the ones she cares for.
