brainpower!!—venus into gemini—april 11th – may 7th

Today, Saturday, April 11th, dear Venus moves from Fixed Earth, Taurus, to Mutable Air, Gemini.

Arthur-Foord-Hughes-A-lady-reading-while-playing-the-spinet1Aphrodite rules the second sign, meaning she was in her element (hee hee!) during her stay in Taurus. Now, she has moved on to Mercury’s turf.

Really, this isn’t such a bad transition—since the two deities work rather well together. Mercury is the brains and Venus is the looks, so to speak.

But, now for the next three and a half weeks, the Goddess of Love gets to don her thinking cap and go all mental.

Gemini Venus is smart. Very smart. She is well read and precocious. She needs to flex her intellectual muscles the way Aries Mars needs to flex his actual physical muscles. Her mind is what makes her so attractive AND what she uses to attract others and situations to her.

She craves stimulation. Doing four things at once makes her happy. Listening to the radio and watching TV while writing a term paper puts her at ease. She wants to surround herself with those who can keep up and help her exhaust Mutable Air’s constant cerebral fires. (But if you think this placement is hyper, just wait til Mercury gets here in May!!!)

Yep, Gemini Venus’ energy is boundless—this lady can chat your ear off. She is interesting and interested in her surroundings. She is a bit of a know-it-all but truly appreciates those who can challenge and educate her the most. She is well-rounded and knows quite a lot about most subjects.  She is in love with ideas but loves communicating them even more. She wants to be in the know and suffers when the flow of information is blocked.

There are a few things to watch out for during this time, such as superficiality—Gemini flints across the surface of ALL things, there is little time left to dig deep. Gossip is another flaw of this celestial area. Can you blame them, really?  EVERYTHING is just so damn fascinating and it NEEDS to be discussed!

Alright.

So, there you have it, guys. For almost the next month, we get to turn up the brain power—Venusian style.

honing your craft—mars in taurus—march 31 – may 11

Mars has left the sign he rules, Aries.

Burne-Jones-Third-Day-of-CreationMany have been running amok—going here and there—just moving to move, shedding old Winter skins for a lighter, shinier outfit.

Battle ready but desperate for purpose. All this energy and these ideas—ughhhh, no place to go!

Unfocused Mars Aries.

Well, the Warrior has now moved into Taurus.

Taurus is the Bull—the Fixed Earth sign—things now will become far more practical and “focus” for focus’ sake will be a sight bit easier to embody.

With his ingress to the second sign, the Warrior joins Venus in her own sign, her own realm. He mutates himself to her function and form. He champions the ideals she holds supreme—this means our modus operandi will become thankfully a lot more easy going, too.

The wildfire of Aries becomes the hearth fire of Taurus.

singing a ballad of spring—venus into taurus—march 17th – april 11th

display_imageVenus is leaving Aries for Taurus today.

Her departure breaks up the Fire stellium that has gotten our blood pumping the last few weeks. Now, it is on to the Fixed Earth sign for the Goddess of Love—a sign she rules.

Since Mars remains in the sign he rules, Aries, the two are now in places they are very comfortable—things will feel as it should.

Just right.

The thawing ice and snow is being replaced with the first chilly bike rides of the year. The sun feels a bit warmer and shines ever brighter.

Aphrodite’s three week sojourn in the second sign will have us thinking of flowers buds and sprouting veggie seeds. Afternoon-long dog walks by the river. Any excuse to get our hands and feet in the dirt. Fresh air in our lungs.

We will feel the need to get our bodies prepared for summer—shedding our layers and relishing the pleasure getting our fashions just so brings. Taurus is Venusian, therefore maintaining a certain appearance is requisite to feeling vital. And not just for our physical form, our home decor will benefit exponentially from the Goddess of Love’s ardent command.

Yes, today, as Venus moves into her new position, she will be accompanied by the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune in Pisces at 8º. The melding of these planets gives us transient poetic and photographic genius—it would be wise to take a camera and pen & paper on your excursions outdoors.

Collectively, we will find it ever easier to harness nature’s terrific beauty. Capture what you see and feel in image and verse. It will be magical.

Happy Venusian adventures and happy St. Paddy’s Day.

accepting the challenge—mars with jupiter/uranus/pluto—march 9th – 11th

Edward-Robert-Hughes-Painting-018Late last night, Aries Mars trined Leo Jupiter Rx and then, in the wee hours of the morning, he conjuncted Uranus. Tomorrow, the God of War will square Capricorn Pluto.

Venus recently made her way through each of these very aspects leading into last week’s Full Moon and now its her valiant paramour’s turn to do the same.

Very similar vibe but also very different.

For one thing, our physical energy for the next few days will be off the charts! Unless afflicted by something in the natal chart, it will simply seem as if our vigor knows no bounds.  Collectively, we simply want to get out and meet life head on—play as if our souls depended on it!!

Alright, we are actually in the thick of this RIGHT NOW, so on to the particulars.

of service and surrender—virgo/pisces full moon—march 5th

Today is the Virgo/Pisces Full Moon at 14º. Saule-Ct168-1024x847

I spoke about Mercury’s role in this event a couple of days ago and yesterday’s post related some of what Venus is up to today.

So, along with the Full Moon proper, I will concentrate on the following pieces to this intricate Lunation:

  • Mars conjuncts the South Node in Aries
  • Venus/Uranus quincunxes the Virgo Moon
  • Luna trines Cappy Pluto and opposes Pisces Chiron
  • Sun conjuncts (albeit widely) Chiron (adding himself to the reformed Jupiter Rx/Pluto/Chiron Yod)

Alright.

a day that can’t be pinned down—sun conjunct neptune—feb 26th

It will probably come as no shock to many of you that last night at midnight, the Sun and Neptune exacted theireb26c-1 conjunction at 7º16′ Pisces.

To accompany the watery mist of this conjunction, the Moon is squaring the pair from Gemini, today. Also, a sign not known for it’s stable nature.

Having Venus, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, the South Node and Saturn all in Fire signs, generates a consuming steam wafting from the murky Piscean depths. Those who can naturally navigate these waters with spry agility have access to creative talents which will abound with imaginative Neptunian fervor.

And luckily, the Jupiter Rx/Pluto/Chiron yod has reformed, lending a needed Leonine focal point for those of us who require a palpable material expression.

The last week has felt unsolid and unhinged to me. There’s simply a sense that the bottom will fall out of our entire existence, either from decayed rot or fundamental illusion. Maybe both.

This is precisely how a Neptune transit usually feels. The best course of action is to surrender and drift.

Just float along.

Yesterday and today, the conjunction is at its most vital. Remember, the fade will fade, I promise.

venus & mars trine father time—feb 24th

la-belle-dame-sans-merciYesterday was melancholy.

Today should be better.

A lot better.

Our spirited duo, Aries Mars and Venus are trining Sagittarius Saturn, and well, trines just feel better.

Today’s 120º trine angle brings together two planets of same element and therefore have none of the up-your-ass annoyance that characterize yesterday’s 90º square.

Element vs. Modality, of sorts.

Even old sour puss Saturn mellows when under a trine’s influence.

Fire signs, such as today’s players—Aries and Sadge, promise passion and speed, while Mars and Venus are two of the solar system’s consummate worker bees—a trine doubles your pleasure.

Father Time interacting with this pair adds stability and proper form. Everything that seemed impossible on Monday, will now feel effortless on Tuesday.

Whatever chinks in the armor Sun/Saturn illuminated under the square, can now be resolved with gutsy promptness under the trine. Use the former to get to the latter—one into the other.

Those of us with planets and points at the beginning degrees of the Fire signs feel the goodness most acutely.

And finally, remember, Venus and Mars together is almost always super sexy. We can all bask in that glow as we continue through our week.

Bonus!!!

the masculine and feminine on fire—mars & venus into aries

who is the artist?????

who is the artist? —–> Zdzislaw Beksinski

Friday the 20th, Mars and Venus ingressed and conjuncted at 0º of Aries.

Thus a new cycle begins among astrology’s most interesting pair, the God of War and Goddess of Love.

Their passage from Pisces to Aries not only threatens the arrival of Spring in a number of short weeks but is very special due to degree and sign involved.

Alright, to start, I will discuss the sign of Aries and what it means to have planets here, then I’ll get on to the peremptory conjunction.
