mercury/jupiter I/O/Q cycle begins—dec. 30th

The I/O/Q triad is a working theory of mine—a pattern I noticed when first paying closer attention to transits.

And now it is time for Leo Jupiter to get his wondrous energies funneled to the Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces side of the Various-Vintage-Illustrations-019zodiac.

Capricorn Venus began her cycle with the King of Planets last week that was muddled by a Finger of God aspect with the Pisces Moon.

But Cappy Mercury begins his dance with Leo Jupiter on a more unadulterated footing, Tuesday the 30th, when the two meet up in a quincunx at the 21º.

Jupiter is recently retrograde, which means the resultant thought expansion of the above coupling will take an introspective trajectory. This is not necessarily uncomfortable for Capricorn is naturally a sign suited for reflection and analysis.

The ending of the year can be one of quiet contemplation.  We can ground ourselves if we choose—remember, inconjuncts are about choosing to act with the given energies, spending the last days of 2014 looking contently behind to better plan ahead.

Leo can give Capricorn the magnanimity to let go of the past, freeing us to exercise the Goat’s Cardinal talent for building our best lives possible into 2015—time-tested and steadfast.

Or one could simply sit, serene, with the satisfying myriad of noble ideas coming into view under this celestial frequency.

To help us in our journey, this will be a gracious and forgiving atmosphere to work out all those resolutions we have lurking ’round the bend.

2014 christmas week review

Well, I sincerely hope everyone had a magnificent Holiday.

Vintage-Old-Book-Illustration-016The weather here in the panhandle coupled with the festivities prevented me from posting, so now I’m just gonna give a brief recap of the energies of last week.

Needless to say, the big story is Saturn’s ingress from Scorpio to Sagittarius on the 23rd.

Huge!!!

I will post separately about that later today.

But Saturn was, of course, not the only happenings in the Heavens.

december 20th—solstice eve 2014: part 1

This is the first of a three part series of posts detailing the busy Saturday preceding the Winter Solstice/New Moon on Sunday, the 21st.

1800s-Vintage-Illustrations-029Alright, the skies are brimming to the gills with Mutable and Cardinal escapades this weekend.

The only hold-out to speak of is dear old Saturn battling the chaos of Scorpio’s 29th degree. He moved to the anaretic position on December 14th and will remain there until the 23rd, when he finally crosses the border into Sagittarius.

His current locality points to a crisis of Scorpionic proportion. It’s crunch time for how we all relate to sex, death and taxes—you can toss in intimacy, too, for shits and giggles. Ha!

Metaphorically, we are tying up any loose ends related to the issues listed above. Whatever Saturn deems yet to be finalized, the seeds of culmination will be planted at this New Moon, for he will retrograde back into the 8th sign come June 2015 to complete.

Saturn leaves nothing unsound.

Yay!

While Father Time has his hands full with all that, our freshly ingressed Capricorn Mercury is sextiling Neptune in Pisces. We all will have an extra boost of intuitive dexterity at our disposal.

Ah, yes, the Trickster palling up with the God of Illusion makes for quite the environment for mischief. Clever little rascals, to bring a bit of gaiety with the bite of Capricorn’s devilish humor.

This folks, is just some of the energy to influence the weekend’s Solstice.

Exciting.

december 17th—thoughts toward Cappy praxis

The sign of Capricorn is heating up just in time for the spectacular Winter Solstice/New Moon on the 21st!!

Venus ingressed to the sign of the Goat last Wednesday and this week it is Mercury’s turn.

Florence-Mary-Anderson-Illustration-024Even dear Mars in Aquarius shares an affinity with all planets transiting the 10th sign in the fact that Saturn used to be the 11th sign’s ruler too, way back when.

So, on the 17th, the Winged Messenger will move from Sagittarius to Capricorn.

From Mutable Fire to Cardinal Earth.

With this change, thoughts and communication will get a bit more serious, some of the jolly will be replaced with rational thoughts of holiday budgets and proper decorum.

Ah yes, but the flip side is Mercury will team with Venus to give each of us the perfect tools to create or simply carry on the seasonal traditions that make this time of year so meaningful.

Yes, Capricorn is the sign of tradition and steadfast cultural mores. He gets greatest satisfaction by building upon the past. Remembering our histories and respecting our collective customs make the Goat’s heart flutter.

All the little things we do this time of year simply because someone older did them when we were growing up are the requisite Cappy fodder.

Don’t resist it—the Sagittarius party is coming to an end.  The Saturnine need to hunker down and horde time honored habits and ways of life is at hand.

‘Tis the Season.
