week ahead—adapting to serve—april 27th – 30th

This week is one where Mutable energy runs the show.

Warwick-Goble-Vintage-Illustration-030But first, today, the Leo Moon squares Mars and Mercury in Taurus—so, our hearts will be out of sync with our words and actions.

Though the need to keep our environment stable is strong, we simply end up saying all the wrong things and potentially muck it all up. Best to keep a tight rein on our tongues and forego impatient decisions.

Thankfully today will be the most disjointed of the week, for by tomorrow the Moon moves into Virgo and quickly trines the Taurus Sun, as Mars sextiles Chiron. The need to organize and tweak will take over AND we’ll have the clarity and sense of purpose to see it done.

A Virgo Moon needs to serve and be of service—even if it’s just cleaning out our desks at work. We’ll simply feel the impetus to be more helpful and to take exceptional care with the “little stuff”.

Wednesday will be very similar to Tuesday—wanting to improve surroundings (Sun sextile Neptune) while having the drive (Moon trine Mars) and imaginative moxy (Moon opposite Neptune) to match our desires—with the exception of Gemini Venus squaring Pisces Chiron.

This tends to create a stumbling around like ‘awkward teenagers, unconfident and insecure affect. Especially with Venus in Gemini—our intellectual acumen will take the hardest hits.

Ughhhhh, painful!!

Hopefully, with all the Neptunian and Mutable energy about, the above will be smoothed to a fine-grade sandpaper. Well, at least long enough for us to realize our doubts need only be temporary.

Thursday, the lovely Virgo Moon will trine Taurus Mercury for a pleasant Earthy dose of feeling and thinking in simpatico, further adding to the prevailing ambiance of the week. This right before the Winged Messenger moves into Gemini, sign of his rulership, very late that evening. (More on that later.)

We are gonna know what we want and know how to get it with just enough celestial balm to keep our stress levels at a workable level. The one thing Mutable does best is roll with those punches, so no matter what life tosses at us, we will be adequately prepared to adapt as necessary.

All in all, a pretty positive week.

singing a ballad of spring—venus into taurus—march 17th – april 11th

display_imageVenus is leaving Aries for Taurus today.

Her departure breaks up the Fire stellium that has gotten our blood pumping the last few weeks. Now, it is on to the Fixed Earth sign for the Goddess of Love—a sign she rules.

Since Mars remains in the sign he rules, Aries, the two are now in places they are very comfortable—things will feel as it should.

Just right.

The thawing ice and snow is being replaced with the first chilly bike rides of the year. The sun feels a bit warmer and shines ever brighter.

Aphrodite’s three week sojourn in the second sign will have us thinking of flowers buds and sprouting veggie seeds. Afternoon-long dog walks by the river. Any excuse to get our hands and feet in the dirt. Fresh air in our lungs.

We will feel the need to get our bodies prepared for summer—shedding our layers and relishing the pleasure getting our fashions just so brings. Taurus is Venusian, therefore maintaining a certain appearance is requisite to feeling vital. And not just for our physical form, our home decor will benefit exponentially from the Goddess of Love’s ardent command.

Yes, today, as Venus moves into her new position, she will be accompanied by the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune in Pisces at 8º. The melding of these planets gives us transient poetic and photographic genius—it would be wise to take a camera and pen & paper on your excursions outdoors.

Collectively, we will find it ever easier to harness nature’s terrific beauty. Capture what you see and feel in image and verse. It will be magical.

Happy Venusian adventures and happy St. Paddy’s Day.

tarot tales: the Page of Swords

This past Sunday was my paternal Grandma’s 101st birthday. She has been gone 9 years now, but all the same. I had a feeling my next tarot story would be about her and sure enough . . .

I was always upsetting her. Of course, I was a willful child, rebellious and sassy.

She was from a very different time—we had little in common.

She came of age during the Depression; I am a child of the 80’s and teen of the 90’s.

Different as different could be.

venus & mars trine father time—feb 24th

la-belle-dame-sans-merciYesterday was melancholy.

Today should be better.

A lot better.

Our spirited duo, Aries Mars and Venus are trining Sagittarius Saturn, and well, trines just feel better.

Today’s 120º trine angle brings together two planets of same element and therefore have none of the up-your-ass annoyance that characterize yesterday’s 90º square.

Element vs. Modality, of sorts.

Even old sour puss Saturn mellows when under a trine’s influence.

Fire signs, such as today’s players—Aries and Sadge, promise passion and speed, while Mars and Venus are two of the solar system’s consummate worker bees—a trine doubles your pleasure.

Father Time interacting with this pair adds stability and proper form. Everything that seemed impossible on Monday, will now feel effortless on Tuesday.

Whatever chinks in the armor Sun/Saturn illuminated under the square, can now be resolved with gutsy promptness under the trine. Use the former to get to the latter—one into the other.

Those of us with planets and points at the beginning degrees of the Fire signs feel the goodness most acutely.

And finally, remember, Venus and Mars together is almost always super sexy. We can all bask in that glow as we continue through our week.

Bonus!!!

feb 4th—knighthood for the fishes

Today, Pisces Mars inconjuncts dear Leo Jupiter Rx at 18º.Various-Vintage-Illustrations-040

This is the third and final meeting in their I/O/Q cycle for Jupiter’s 2014/2015 stint in Leo.

The first round came back in November when Leo granted some R&R to our hardworking Capricorn sectors. Then, on New Year’s Eve, the party was taken to new heights when the two fire planets met for their opposition, reminiscent of last night’s Leo Full Moon.

Well, this time it is the Fishes who get to benefit of the Lion’s talents. We need to ask ourselves what could Pisces use a little more of that fiery Leo has in spades?

I bet many of you already know, huh?

CONFIDENCE!

of angels and kings—leo full moon—feb. 3rd

warwick6Tomorrow evening, at around 6 PM EST, we have the Leo Full Moon at 14º.

The Sun/Moon opposition will be forming a boomerang yod with Capricorn Pluto and the recent Pisces Mars/Chiron conjunction AND the outrageous Uranus/Pluto square is in full effect.

Pretty potent stuff!!

So, let’s get started.

Remember to pinpoint the houses the Leo/Aquarius axis falls to know exactly where the business is going down for you.

season of the water bearer—jan 20th

Tuesday, the 20th, sees the Sun ingressing to the 11th sign of Aquarius, followed shortly by the Moon.

lightning-1909The two Luminaries conjunct at 0º roughly around 8AM EST.

We’ll be waking to a new day, a new astrological month and a new lunation cycle.

Alright!

The first New Moon of 2015 continues last year’s pattern of Sun ingresses coinciding with the start of a new Lunar month. The zero degree of a sign is mighty potent and, therefore, adds quite a punch to the energy backing intentions set at this time.

And true to Aquarius’ unconventional nature there will be a SECOND New Moon February 18th at the crisis-laden 29th degree.

Oh Boy!

So, let’s get to know Aquarius a little bit better to best utilize the celestial toys we get to play with this month!

full moon by midnight—jan 5th

Our first Full Moon of the new year occurs early Monday at almost precisely midnight EST.

4.2.7The preceding Sunday is packed with astrological vitality, making this Moon super-duper—so, let’s get started.

Venus and Mercury have both recently moved into Aquarius. They are now sextiling Saturn, new to Sagittarius. This adds plain good judgement and success to any plans made now—especially artistic or career-wise.

Saturday saw the Sun join Pluto at the 13º of Capricorn. They will remain intertwined for the duration of the Full Moon, while sextiling Pisces Chiron.

The Maverick adds fuel to the already volatile healing capabilities of Sol and the Lord of the Underworld, BUT with the gentleness and compassion only a Piscean planet (or asteroid) can provide.

As she moves into Cancer, Luna, herself, dances with Chiron in a free flowing trine. Water meets water to dissolve old scars and give fresh perspective.

Yes, Sunday night’s event could be a major point of catharsis for us, depending on the intentions set at the New Moon as well as individual house position—look to 12 to 14 degrees of the Cardinal signs.

As you know, the Full Moon occurs along the Capricorn/Cancer axis. Earth and Water. The Father and the Mother of the zodiac.

Themes of nurturing and protection will surface. Quite possibly old ghosts from childhood could arise—don’t forget Pluto is in the frey.

How do we provide for our inner child?

How do we protect those—people, ideas, projects—we have committed to nurture?

How are we building structures that nourish and shelter the children—metaphorical and otherwise—we have birthed and are seeing to maturation?

Do these structures allow for growth in all areas—physical, mental, spiritual, emotional? Or are they outdated, in need of overhaul?

As the natural rulers of the 4th and 10th Houses respectively, Cancer and Capricorn bring along fundamental questions of our place and security in the world. Issues of do or die.

Alright, and now to get to the meatiest part of this opposition.

you zig, then i’ll zag—venus into aquarius—jan 3rd

The Goddess of Love and Beauty leaves Capricorn this Saturday, January 3rd, for the Fixed Air sign, Aquarius and will remain there until the 27th.

January and February are the coldest months of the year—not just weather wise but also astrologically.

Let me explain:  Capricorn and his succeeding sign, Aquarius are not the best with the feels. The Goat prefers practical results on the material plane—this is how he shows love and caring. Likewise with the Water Bearer, the feels are all in the mind. Discussing and brainstorming radical concepts are how they demonstrate friendship and acceptance.

So, from the time all the worker bees make their exodus from Sagittarius between Thanksgiving and Christmas until they all congregate in Pisces come the end of February—the feels are gonna be frozen solid.

Chilly, aloof, detached.

Aquarius.
