jan 13th – 15th—worker bees a buzzin’

This week sees an abundance of activity among three of the worker bees—Mercury, Venus and Mars (the Sun and Moon take center stage at next week’s lunation, of course).

Lots to talk about.

First, the good news—

Vintage-Plants-and-Flowers-Clipart-006Yesterday, Venus and Mercury came into exact conjunction at 11º Aquarius.

They remain conjunct today while forming a sextile with Aries Uranus. Tomorrow, the 14th, the pair will semi-sextile Capricorn Pluto and Pisces Chiron while trining the Libran North Node.

When the Messenger God and Aphrodite conjoin, the atmosphere is active and pleasant.  Our mind is working well with our social graces and when in Aquarius—humanitarian idealism meets quirky charm.

Add to this dynamic easy aspects from Uranus (who is the ruler of Aquarius), Pluto, Chiron and the Nodal Axis and well, our collective drive to cajole the best out of humanity is accentuated exponentially.

This duo have the moxie to get it done.

And, boy, are you gonna need it since Piscean Mars exactly squares Saturn in Sagittarius on Thursday.

Folks, this is a tricky one. Here an almost saintly amount of patience and perseverance is required. Though, positively, I feel the overall effect is softened since Pisces and Sadge are Mutable, thus making it easier to adapt.

Regardless, expect general frustration at every turn—trudging through molasses. A lot of B.S. may get piled on your plate all at once. Just don’t let it rile you—that’s the test.

As with most things Saturnine, if you know EXACTLY what you want and are willing to follow the rules PRESICELY in getting it, you’ll be fine.

Otherwise, keep your head down and don’t stop working, because after the square exacts the influence fades rather quickly.

So, there you have it, some of the gifts as well as some of the challenges fueling this week’s heavens.

Yep, remember all the Venusian charm and Mercurial quick wit at your disposal and use it!

fast and dirty—I/O/Q triad—a working theory

This whole inconjunct/opposition/quincunx (I/O/Q, for short) triad is a working theory of mine. And I reference it a lot, so I figured I better ‘splain myself a bit.

Here’s some back story:  huh?planetary hand-me-downsexam metaphor, venus example

Ok.  So, why is it so compelling for me?

Well, I love the way the cosmos funnels energy across the charts. You will get the raw materials, one way or another, always. Of course, it is up to you to make it precisely what you need. That’s what I feel is going on here.

The I/O/Q cycle honors the wisdom of the number 3. It focuses on a chronological segment of the zodiac (eg. Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) and pumps energy that way from a big kahuna outer planet. It puts our personal, worker bee, planets in the service of the generational outer planets. Cosmic lessons of great magnitude will be available to this area.

orbs, borbs, bo-borbs . . .

Here’s a fast and dirty about the orbs I use in my weekly forecast posts.

For the daily/weekly transit posts, I use ridiculously tight orbs—1-2° tops.

Here’s my thinking:

The inner planets move so fast.  They whizz in, then out of aspect to one another that the effects don’t last more than a day or two.  And, geez, with the Moon, she is only within orb for a couple of hours, she travels soooo quickly.  Of course, this can change with retrograde motion, where a planet can go over a spot 3 times (sometimes 5 for Neptune and Pluto!) in one cycle.

Now, I do feel aspects involving inner to outer planets build for maybe a week before perfection, then dwindle at a slightly faster rate.  Outer planet to outer planet, well—the energy can stick around for a good long while, simply due to their slllllooooowwww speed and retrogrades.  Those I take case by case.

I try to post 2 days before the perfection of an aspect, since I feel most folks will probably already have noticed the energy gaining strength and be wondering what the heck is going on?  I see no need to talk about something weeks in advance when it will be most certainly forgotten precisely when you are in the thick of it.   A couple days fair warning and it will be fresh in your mind when it is at peak manifestation.

More about the orbs I use in my individual chart readings as questions arise.

planetary hand-me-downs

Here is my fast and dirty theory about one secret to outer planet transits.

But first let me define some terms:

inner planets (i.e. personal planets)—planets inside the Asteroid Belt

personal planetsSun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars  I call them the worker bees.  The Moon is the Queen Bee for she works her magic around the entire zodiac each month.  Next is Mercury and Venus, who are never far from the Sun, fleshing out the sign he occupies each month.  Mars is the renegade of the bunch, taking roughly 2 years to make his path around to each sign.  Along with the Rising Sign, these guys are the building blocks of the personality—the nuts and bolts.
