week ahead—grounding balance—april 13th – 16th

Our upcoming week shows extra emphasis on the talents of the Earth element—which is great, cuz we’re gonna need it!Friedrich-Caspar-David-ZZZ-The-Rock-Gates-in-Neurathen

For the week, the waning Moon will spend her time in Aquarius then Pisces.

While here, there is potential to get swept away with “out there” excitable daydreams and/or painful, unrealistic emotional dramas.

Uh oh.

But not likely. Let me explain.

We start the week similar to yesterday—Uranus/Pluto square still in effect, as well as the Mars/Neptune sextile. We are also getting accustomed to Venus now in Gemini.

Peachy.

And Tuesday sees Mercury leave Aries for Venus ruled, Taurus.

Lovely.

nobody said it was gonna be easy—march 21st thru 24th

Mikalojus_Konstantinas_Ciurlionis_-_CREATION_OF_THE_WORLD_IX_-_1905_-_6_VarsuvaWell, straight off the heals of yesterday’s glide into Spring, today we are faced with a bit of a reality check.

For the weekend into the week, Venus and Mercury will be put through the paces.

Venus is how we relate and bond—what we value. Mercury is our mind and communication style—how we learn. These are the areas of concentration for the next couple.

First, Taurus Venus begins her I/O/Q cycle with Sagittarius SaturnRX today at 4º.  This tense aspect creates a low-level feeling of self-consciousness, possibly about our values (Sagittarius) or even our physical looks and social relationships (Taurus). How we manage money and resources, too, may pop up.

Wherever Taurus is in our chart’s, we want the “good life”. The stable passions of a Fire Saturn can make it so. Fire is uncomfortable for Earth—so an adjustment (inconjunct) of perspective is needed.

how bad do ya want it?—venus inconjunct jupiter—feb 10th

As the worker bees, one by one, zip through Pisces, they will invariably aspect Leo Jupiter one last time in their I/O/Q cycle.

Jupiter is leaving the sign of royalty in August of this year, meaning there will be no more King-making energy pulledÿÁ to our Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces sectors (in this precise form) until the Summer of 2026.

2026! Yikes!

Well, today, is Venus’ last dance with Leonine yumminess in her celestial trifecta. (Read about her two previous encounters here and here.)

Alright, so what does this mean for our Tuesday in February?

Venus wants to give you what you need and Jupiter wants to magnify it, exponentially.

Pisces intrinsically knows what needs to be surrendered to reach a goal and Leo will quickly remove anything in the way of giving you what you desire.

That is the gist of the day—

What do you want?

For example, I have had a number of health related issues for myself and loved ones come to the fore over the last week.

Needless to say, I want to feel at peace around all this, like there is a clear course to more serene waters.

Well today, I have felt a lovely sense of calm and reassurance. I understand the magnitude of what needs to be done to regain health for all concerned, but the crippling fear of medical bills, physical pain and long-term debility is simply not there. They were there yesterday, but not today.

This quincunx between Leo and Venus falls right on top of my natal Leo Moon (feelings!!!).

I want to feel good and so I am.

Will this feeling of contentment last?  Hell no!

But today has been an unexpected respite and I am thankful.

So, what do you want?

feb 4th—knighthood for the fishes

Today, Pisces Mars inconjuncts dear Leo Jupiter Rx at 18º.Various-Vintage-Illustrations-040

This is the third and final meeting in their I/O/Q cycle for Jupiter’s 2014/2015 stint in Leo.

The first round came back in November when Leo granted some R&R to our hardworking Capricorn sectors. Then, on New Year’s Eve, the party was taken to new heights when the two fire planets met for their opposition, reminiscent of last night’s Leo Full Moon.

Well, this time it is the Fishes who get to benefit of the Lion’s talents. We need to ask ourselves what could Pisces use a little more of that fiery Leo has in spades?

I bet many of you already know, huh?

CONFIDENCE!

venus opposes jupiter—jan 19th

Monday, the 19th, Aquarius Venus opposes Leo Jupiter Rx at 20º.

4.2.7They formed their first inconjunct during Christmas Week last month and now it is Leo/Aquarius time. The opposition is Aphrodite’s purest meeting with the King of Planets in their I/O/Q cycle.

It is a fabulous precursor to the Leo Full Moon on February 3rd, since it highlights the energies of a Feminine (Venus/Moon) and Masculine (Jupiter/Sun) planet along the Fixed Fire/Air axis.

So, what does that mean for the beginning of our week?

jan 11th—sun inconjunct jupiter

On January 11th, the Capricorn Sun will quincunx Jupiter Rx in Leo. This is the first of three interactions during their I/O/Q cycle of 2015.

Jupiter will ingress to Virgo (August 11th) before the Sun gets another chance to pick up Leonine energy for Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces.

Crunch time, folks.

Kate-Greenaway-Childrens-Illustrations-009So, what does Leo have to offer Capricorn?

The Lion can teach the Goat to relax.

Instead of operating in a near constant state of exactitude, don’t take yourself so seriously.

Force yourself if you have to.

Remember, oftentimes, inconjuncts require elbow grease!

All work and no play . . .

It is that simple.

Pinpoint your Capricorn house and you will know precisely where to begin.

mercury/jupiter I/O/Q cycle begins—dec. 30th

The I/O/Q triad is a working theory of mine—a pattern I noticed when first paying closer attention to transits.

And now it is time for Leo Jupiter to get his wondrous energies funneled to the Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces side of the Various-Vintage-Illustrations-019zodiac.

Capricorn Venus began her cycle with the King of Planets last week that was muddled by a Finger of God aspect with the Pisces Moon.

But Cappy Mercury begins his dance with Leo Jupiter on a more unadulterated footing, Tuesday the 30th, when the two meet up in a quincunx at the 21º.

Jupiter is recently retrograde, which means the resultant thought expansion of the above coupling will take an introspective trajectory. This is not necessarily uncomfortable for Capricorn is naturally a sign suited for reflection and analysis.

The ending of the year can be one of quiet contemplation.  We can ground ourselves if we choose—remember, inconjuncts are about choosing to act with the given energies, spending the last days of 2014 looking contently behind to better plan ahead.

Leo can give Capricorn the magnanimity to let go of the past, freeing us to exercise the Goat’s Cardinal talent for building our best lives possible into 2015—time-tested and steadfast.

Or one could simply sit, serene, with the satisfying myriad of noble ideas coming into view under this celestial frequency.

To help us in our journey, this will be a gracious and forgiving atmosphere to work out all those resolutions we have lurking ’round the bend.

october 6th-8th—part 2: who’s got a lighter?

So much going on up above, it’s kinda ridiculous.

Read part 1: here.

With all the talk of the grand-Fire-trine and the eclipse at the Full Moon, I think it needs to be stressed that the major player in all this business is the Libra Sun.  He will be the focal planet of the Kite formation, he will be on the North Node of the Nodal Axis.  He will be absorbing energy from Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Uranus.  He is ground zero.

Whichever house 15° Libra occupies is YOUR ground zero.

Alright.

fast and dirty—I/O/Q triad—a working theory

This whole inconjunct/opposition/quincunx (I/O/Q, for short) triad is a working theory of mine. And I reference it a lot, so I figured I better ‘splain myself a bit.

Here’s some back story:  huh?planetary hand-me-downsexam metaphor, venus example

Ok.  So, why is it so compelling for me?

Well, I love the way the cosmos funnels energy across the charts. You will get the raw materials, one way or another, always. Of course, it is up to you to make it precisely what you need. That’s what I feel is going on here.

The I/O/Q cycle honors the wisdom of the number 3. It focuses on a chronological segment of the zodiac (eg. Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) and pumps energy that way from a big kahuna outer planet. It puts our personal, worker bee, planets in the service of the generational outer planets. Cosmic lessons of great magnitude will be available to this area.
