venus & mars trine father time—feb 24th

la-belle-dame-sans-merciYesterday was melancholy.

Today should be better.

A lot better.

Our spirited duo, Aries Mars and Venus are trining Sagittarius Saturn, and well, trines just feel better.

Today’s 120º trine angle brings together two planets of same element and therefore have none of the up-your-ass annoyance that characterize yesterday’s 90º square.

Element vs. Modality, of sorts.

Even old sour puss Saturn mellows when under a trine’s influence.

Fire signs, such as today’s players—Aries and Sadge, promise passion and speed, while Mars and Venus are two of the solar system’s consummate worker bees—a trine doubles your pleasure.

Father Time interacting with this pair adds stability and proper form. Everything that seemed impossible on Monday, will now feel effortless on Tuesday.

Whatever chinks in the armor Sun/Saturn illuminated under the square, can now be resolved with gutsy promptness under the trine. Use the former to get to the latter—one into the other.

Those of us with planets and points at the beginning degrees of the Fire signs feel the goodness most acutely.

And finally, remember, Venus and Mars together is almost always super sexy. We can all bask in that glow as we continue through our week.

Bonus!!!

venus opposes jupiter—jan 19th

Monday, the 19th, Aquarius Venus opposes Leo Jupiter Rx at 20º.

4.2.7They formed their first inconjunct during Christmas Week last month and now it is Leo/Aquarius time. The opposition is Aphrodite’s purest meeting with the King of Planets in their I/O/Q cycle.

It is a fabulous precursor to the Leo Full Moon on February 3rd, since it highlights the energies of a Feminine (Venus/Moon) and Masculine (Jupiter/Sun) planet along the Fixed Fire/Air axis.

So, what does that mean for the beginning of our week?

september 21st—fish out of water?

Mars has been in Sagittarius for a little over a week now.   On Sunday, he will square Neptune in Pisces.

What could Sagittarius Mars garner from anything Piscean?

First some background.

Neptune is the God of the Sea, his is a realm of sorrow and bliss,  hopes and disillusion, guilt and compassion.  He is the ruler of Pisces—this stretch of stars are his home turf.  To say he is strong here is a gross understatement.

The Philosophical Warrior demands truth, education and travel, but above all he wants freedom.  Mars is beyond comfortable in the 9th sign of the zodiac.  Sometimes a wee bit too comfortable with all that fiery, blunt courage.

This is a good sparring match, though Neptune has the obvious upper hand.

Last month, Scorpio Mars trined our Sea God.  This is Water Action interacting with Water Dreams.  Two planets couldn’t fortify one another better.  Water simply understands Water.  But, unfortunately, maybe a little too much.  With this exchange we run the risk of withdrawing into ourselves, where it is safe and familiar.  Why tackle much in the big bad outside world when our own active fantasies are so satisfying?  Good question.

Trines are easy but there is no built-in check and balance to make it definitely easy progressive.

But this time around it’s Water interacting with Fire.

This pair share a Mutable quality.  Sagittarius and Pisces both have an innate ability to adapt to any situation.  They are resourceful and quick on their feet.  Fire is gut instinct and Water is emotional intelligence.  They have basically the same endgame (which is loosely to save the world!), Fire simply goes about things differently than Water, and vice versa.

So, what’s gonna go down?

Pisces gives our Warrior the emotional acumen to understand the fallout his actions might incur.  He becomes a kinder, gentler soldier.  His far-reaching philosophies take on the timeless righteousness of undeniable truth.  And the Archer EATS that right up!

This is square energy, therefore it is stimulating.  It is arousing—something has to be done about it—it ain’t goin’ away.  Their’s is the promise of Sagittarius Mars’ unparalleled vitality fulfilling the endless expansive aspirations of Pisces Neptune.

On Sunday, the 21st, the heavens will be alive with this awesomeness.  All the better given what Virgo Venus has been up to.

Compassionate action on tap to spackle the cracks in those walls.

Yeah.

the inconjunct: huh?

What the hell is an inconjunct?

How is it related to a quincunx?

Wait, did you just misspell ‘conjunct’ and call me a mean name?

Nope.  An inconjunct and a quincunx are the same thing.  It is an aspect between 2 planets or points, 150° apart.  Not to be confused with an opposition which is 180°.

And in honor of  the many inconjuncts currently swirling about in the heavens, I wanted to write another fast and dirty post on what exactly these things are and how they compute in the astrological chart.
