and for the week—energy, imagination, passion and calm—june 8th – 11th

George-Barbier-LAir-868-35This week’s skies are dominated by the Gemini Sun/Mars conjunction sextiling Aries Uranus and Leo Jupiter, who themselves are in trine. At first the sextile to Jupiter is the strongest, but by week’s end, as the Moon comes to help, the interaction with Uranus takes command.

What it all means is we can look forward to a relatively productive week.

We will effortlessly have enough energy to get what needs done, done. It simply won’t cross our minds to procrastinate—we’ll be squarely in the ‘now’ of doing—Mars cazimi to the Sun and all! Jupiter adds confidence and good humor; Uranus lends genius and riotous know-how.

I’m not complaining.

On the emotional front, well, lovely Leo Venus and dapper Gemini Mercury Rx* sextile for most of the week. Our minds can easily tap into the beauty all around—this is a pleasant and calming boost to the whole shebang!

For her part, Luna is moving to Pisces as I type, shortly to square Saturn Rx in Sagittarius—perfect mentality to get the work week started. As she drifts through the Mutable waters Monday and Tuesday, intense imaginative solicitude will be collectively available.

Then by Wednesday, she has switched gears to the fiery passions of Aries, fueling the energies of the boys in Gemini. She interacts benevolently with most, save for a square to Capricorn Pluto Rx which may cause some minor power struggles. But by Thursday evening she is VOC, allowing us to rest up overnight to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for Friday!

Yeah, still not complaining.

weekend augury—happy, happy, joy, joy!—june 5th – 7th

WoutiersTheTriumphofBacchusKHMIt’s looking to be a wonderfully positive couple days!! Nothing but trines and sextiles (oh, ok, a couple oppositions, too)!!

Today, lovely Venus moves to big-hearted Leo—where she stays for the summer due to her retrograde. Lucky us! And the Capricorn Moon makes a few final aspects before becoming VOC for the remainder of the day.

All weekend, Gemini Mars approaches a conjunction with the Sun, while sextiling both Jupiter and Uranus—Fire and Air!! All will brighten and we will have plenty of confidence to work and maybe party! This configuration becomes tightest Monday but we surely benefit now, too.

Tomorrow the Moon has moved to Aquarius to oppose Venus, then trine Gemini Mercury Rx. For her part, Venus trines Saturn Rx in Sadge. We’ll feel stable but also extravagantly sincere in our day-to-day emotional dealings. Fire fanned by the winds of Air.

Also Saturday, the Gemini Sun quincunxes Capricorn Pluto adding depth and intensity to Gemini’s fluttering mental gymnastics—great for conversations and such.

Sunday, sees Luna livin’ big with a sextile from Jupiter and Uranus AND trining the Sun & Mars. Aquarius loves the people and engaging socially will be a no-brainer under this influence!!

The Moon then goes VOC for the evening, so we can relax and ready for the work week.

week ahead—critical control—june 1st – 4th

And for the first week, it’s actually a busy couple of days.

Today, the Moon finishes her monthly in Scorpio, moving to Sadge joining Saturn at 0°. The intensity of this placement is exacerbated by Luna and Father Time being at critical degrees—but trying to keep it all under tight rein, like Scorpio and Saturn are want to do. Tense!

Tuesday sees the Gemini/Sagittarius Lunation, where Mars plays an important role. (I will go into more detail in a subsequent post.) Then by suppertime, we contend with a wide Grand Fire Trine among the Moon, Jupiter and Uranus, that will no doubt help with the FM hangover.

Wednesday, Luna goes VOC just after sunrise and remains so till after sunset.  Sandbag the work day, if you can, unless, of course, you need to use the Void to your advantage!

Thursday, the Capricorn Moon works her way through aspects to the Nodes and Neptune to reach Pluto, late. The vibe is reminiscent of how we began the week under a Scorpio Moon conjunct Saturn—emotional discipline and control.

Also, similar is the day’s critical degree/out of sign square between Cancer Venus and Sagittarius Saturn Rx at 29° and 0°, respectively.

Don’t let this get you down. Remember your worth and know you have what it takes!

week ahead—everyone’s OK!—may 26th – 28th

As we go back to the daily grind from the holiday weekend, we find the Moon is still solid in Virgo, Gemini Mars moves to conjunct MercuryRx and Cancer Venus gets ready to trine Pisces Chiron. We still are under the effects of painting-by-george-frederic-watts-at-watts-gallery-surrey-conde-nast-traveller-26jan15-prthe Jupiter/Pluto inconjunct; Venus squaring Uranus; Mars/Mercury squaring Neptune.

This is very much a day of limbo—many things are just slightly off from exact. Precise does not characterize today, much to the chagrin of our waxing Virgo Moon.

Wednesday, is a busy one AND we have the energy to be when Mars and Mercury meet up.

But dang it! Pesky Merc Retch just may frustrate us, A LOT. And, to be honest, the day may be a wash, anyway, for Luna goes VOC before dawn and stays that way till evening when she moves to Libra. Finish things, don’t start them.

Anyhoo, our minds are very active and if it’s mental work we need to do—with pen and paper—we may just be alright.

And for the Venus/Chiron contribution to the week—well, there will be a magnificent feeling of ‘I’m OK, you’re OK!’ For when Water feels good (and trines feel good), we feel accepted and loved, unconditionally. Not a time to grapple with low esteem and body hatred—we’ll see straight through that B.S.!!!!

Thank goodness!

Thursday, sees residuals from the day before while Luna traverses the sign of the Scales. She zaps the Nodal Axis while trining the boys in Gemini—we’ll be thinking of the future of important relationships and how we can maintain the passion.

for the long weekend—mirth and maelstrom—may 22nd – 25th

me55-burne-jones-the-knights-and-the-briar-roseThe Cancer Moon trined Pisces Chiron early this morning (about 1AM)—giving us potentially sweet, sweet dreams through the night. She is now Void of Course, remaining so till suppertime.

The Sun moved to Gemini yesterday and is currently locked in an opposition with Sagittarius Saturn Rx. How we interact with authority figures, especially about issues of communication and education will be highlighted.

This, Mercury Rx and a VOC Moon make the last day of our workweek a bit stressful—blah, it will keep till Tuesday. Do the best you can.

Tomorrow, the Moon is in shiny Leo interacting with all the planets in vivacious Gemini (Sun/Mars/Mercury) eventually to conjunct Jupiter, then trine zany Aries Uranus on Sunday.

This makes the weekend proper a skip in a budding spring meadow. Leo is happy and fun and it will definitely show!

And then we get to Monday.

Cancer Venus will square Aries Uranus while the Moon travels through Virgo creating a rolling Mutable Grand Square and Grand Cross with Saturn, the boys in Gemini and Neptune.

Fitful excitable day. We won’t know whether we want to read something, clean something, lecture someone or just get drunk instead. Before the day is done, we will probably partake in all of it!!!

It will be a bizarre vibe to remember our veterans under, but not so bad to have a backyard BBQ.

Or just go see Mad Max another time, like me.

fast and dirty—just straight chillaxin’

Many people do a lot of work around the cycles of the Moon.

From starting projects at the New Moon, to home gardening and even large scale farming, to relaxing and tying up loose ends during the Waning Moon.

06WarwickGoble_CriseydeAndHerMaidens_100It is fun and I find it helps a wee little human stay connected to the natural rythyms of the big ol’ universe.

Anyway.

One nuance to this work is what is called the void-of-course Moon.

This is basically the period of time when the Moon makes no more major (conjunction, opposition, square, trine, sextile) aspects with another planet before moving into the next sign of the zodiac.

Let me illustrate: Moon moves into Leo> trines Uranus in Aries > continues in Leo > conjuncts Jupiter > continues in Leo > sextiles Mars in Libra > continues in Leo > becomes void-of-course > remains so until ingressing into Virgo > when the whole process of ingress/aspects/void-of-course/ingress occurs again and again and again . . .

Moon void-of-courses (MVOC) can last a very short time or  a very long time or somewhere in between—remember back at the Solstice/New Moon when the Sadge Moon was void-of-course for over 12 hours!?!?

Well, from my research, MVOC’s can be seen as mini-Mercury Retrogrades, where things don’t go as planned and new projects shouldn’t be started. But instead of 2-3 solid weeks like Merc Rx, VOC usually only lasts hours, though they occur every couple days instead of 2-3 times annually.

OK.

MVOC are seen as times to catch up on sleep (yes, literally) or somesuch activity that bolsters your soul—like meditation or a walk in the woods or yoga or a nice cup of tea with a friend.

Relax and let things wait til Luna moves to the next sign.

Of course, mundane life doesn’t come to a stand still because the Moon is telling you to take a nap, yeah?

Control what you can and don’t sweat the rest!!
