keys to aquarius mercury retrograde—jan 21st thru feb 11th

Lovely-Vintage-Illustration-Clip-Art-055It’s upon us again, folks—the dreaded Mercury Retrograde.

Today at 10:55AM EST, Hermes will begin retracing his steps from 17º Aquarius all the way back to 1º.

Yes, all the way back to the beginning!

See, the good news is we’ve been in the Retrograde Shadow all this time—since the 5th of January.  So, these energies will hopefully feel a bit old hat to us by now.

The not-so-great news is Mercury will remain retro till February 11th, but won’t pass the 17th degree (meaning he clears the Shadow) til the 3rd of March.

Nearly two whole months with this vibe out there—hell, the actual retrograde could be seen as the calm eye of the hurricane. Yeah?

Anyway—

First, I am gonna run down all the stuff the mental Water Bearer gets up to on his little escapade. Then I want to talk a bit about why we should relax and see this whole terrible travesty as an opportunity.

jan 11th—sun inconjunct jupiter

On January 11th, the Capricorn Sun will quincunx Jupiter Rx in Leo. This is the first of three interactions during their I/O/Q cycle of 2015.

Jupiter will ingress to Virgo (August 11th) before the Sun gets another chance to pick up Leonine energy for Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces.

Crunch time, folks.

Kate-Greenaway-Childrens-Illustrations-009So, what does Leo have to offer Capricorn?

The Lion can teach the Goat to relax.

Instead of operating in a near constant state of exactitude, don’t take yourself so seriously.

Force yourself if you have to.

Remember, oftentimes, inconjuncts require elbow grease!

All work and no play . . .

It is that simple.

Pinpoint your Capricorn house and you will know precisely where to begin.

BIG picture, anyone?—mercury into aquarius—jan 4th

So, Mercury is on deck to join Venus in Aquarius Sunday the 4th at around 10PM EST. Just two short hours before the Cancer/Capricorn Full Moon.

Free-Vintage-Animals-Clip-Art-005Nearly back to back ingresses for the powerhouse worker bees extraordinaire!

Just gettin’ amped for when they conjunct on the 12th is all! More about that later.

Alright.

The winged Messenger is going to be in Aquarius for awhile, since on January 21st he will Retrograde at 17º, to begin Direct motion again on February 11th at 1º. More on this later, as well.

Aquarius is Fixed Air, ruled by Uranus.

This signals an inconsistent yet stubborn intellectual disposition geared toward radical mental exploration.

As Hermes flies through the sign of the Water Bearer our minds gravitate to solid facts and lofty humanitarian goals. Social reform and humankind’s greatest potential. Aquarius gladly bends the rules to breaking in search for absolute universal ‘truth’.

All Air signs love the role of Devil’s advocate, and Mercury in the 11th sign is it’s champion. Nothing like a bit of controversial pot stirring to get this astro placement giddy.

Collectively, under this transit, we will be able to see and synthesize BIG picture concepts a bit easier. There may be a tendency to become over-opinionated and cold, but our minds could just as easily bend toward the innovative and genius.

All are Aquarius’ bread and butter.

Yes, during Mercury’s time in the 11th sign, we get a chance to release the need to be liked—that is not high on the priority list.

And instead, think up glorious tenets of eccentric dogma capable of blowing our minds wide open.

Just right to keep us entertained during a cold, long winter season.

aquarius mars opposite leo jupiter—new year’s eve

Well, folks, New Year’s Eve coincides with the Leo Jupiter Rx/Aquarius Mars opposition!

Arthur-Rackham-Illustration-038The ringing in of 2015 will be extravagant, if not in decor and pomp, then certainly in drama and spectacle.

Think ostentatious and rash.

Oh, yeah and fueled by alcohol.

If you are ready to let your hair down, then this Wednesday will be a fine time to shine.

Yep, the Leo/Aquarius axis is party central—there are no other signs of the zodiac who love their friends more. Nor any other two who want to paint the town red every chance they get. Social is their lifeblood.

The only thing that could make this a more powerful (read: drunken debaucherous) evening is if the King of Planets weren’t retrograding at the moment, but maybe that’s the blessed ‘brakes’ that save many of us from disaster.

Alright.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

Be safe and have fun!

Happy New Year.

mercury/jupiter I/O/Q cycle begins—dec. 30th

The I/O/Q triad is a working theory of mine—a pattern I noticed when first paying closer attention to transits.

And now it is time for Leo Jupiter to get his wondrous energies funneled to the Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces side of the Various-Vintage-Illustrations-019zodiac.

Capricorn Venus began her cycle with the King of Planets last week that was muddled by a Finger of God aspect with the Pisces Moon.

But Cappy Mercury begins his dance with Leo Jupiter on a more unadulterated footing, Tuesday the 30th, when the two meet up in a quincunx at the 21º.

Jupiter is recently retrograde, which means the resultant thought expansion of the above coupling will take an introspective trajectory. This is not necessarily uncomfortable for Capricorn is naturally a sign suited for reflection and analysis.

The ending of the year can be one of quiet contemplation.  We can ground ourselves if we choose—remember, inconjuncts are about choosing to act with the given energies, spending the last days of 2014 looking contently behind to better plan ahead.

Leo can give Capricorn the magnanimity to let go of the past, freeing us to exercise the Goat’s Cardinal talent for building our best lives possible into 2015—time-tested and steadfast.

Or one could simply sit, serene, with the satisfying myriad of noble ideas coming into view under this celestial frequency.

To help us in our journey, this will be a gracious and forgiving atmosphere to work out all those resolutions we have lurking ’round the bend.

2014 christmas week review

Well, I sincerely hope everyone had a magnificent Holiday.

Vintage-Old-Book-Illustration-016The weather here in the panhandle coupled with the festivities prevented me from posting, so now I’m just gonna give a brief recap of the energies of last week.

Needless to say, the big story is Saturn’s ingress from Scorpio to Sagittarius on the 23rd.

Huge!!!

I will post separately about that later today.

But Saturn was, of course, not the only happenings in the Heavens.

december 12th—a new mission

This past Monday, the 8th, Jupiter turned Retrograde and will remain so until April of next year.

Edward-Burne-Jones-An-Angel-Playing-a-FlageoletOn Friday, December 12th, he will trine the Sun and Mercury conjunct in Sagittarius.

Leo is the warmhearted King, while Sagittarius and his ruler Jupiter are ever seeking the fundamental truths our existence in this universe has to offer up.

Jupiter turning retrograde finds us at year’s end. The King of Planet in the sign of the King is asking us all to  look within. To reflect; to contemplate where this ending cycle has taken us; to decide which direction we will set out for in the coming months.

We are bid to delve even further into our hearts and unlock desires that may have been overlooked in the name of forward progress. Desires that are waiting to be embraced and then actualized.

Monday’s trine from the Sun and Mercury simply kicks-off Leo Jupiter’s new quest for each of us.

And once the new year is begun, we still get 3 more months of  passionate, creative introspection.

It really is a beautiful request from the universe.

I can’t wait to answer it.

the universe bids you to have some FUN!

At almost precisely 6:30 AM CST, on Saturday, November the 22nd, the Sun perfects his conjunction with the Moon, shortly after moving from Scorpio to the 9th sign of Sagittarius.

While most of us slumber, he passes over the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp to immediately start a new Lunar month at sunrise, at 0º.

The very next day, the asteroid Chiron in Pisces turns direct at about 5:45 PM in the evening!!

Folks, this is a crap ton of Mutable energy swirling about the Heavens.

Flexible, adaptable, malleable!!!

What exactly does the Archer and the Fishes have to offer us?

Let’s see .  . .

just a lady with perfect aim

ladywaterfallOn November 16th, Venus moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius. Our lovely Goddess will remain here until the 10th of December.

Alright, the Planet of Love has been intertwined with the Sun for weeks now. When she steps across the cusp from the 8th to the 9th sign of the Archer, I will consider them ‘unconjunct’.

While in Scorpio, Venus was dark and sultry. Emotions ran high and the stakes ran higher.

But now she moves to the sign of the Archer and things are going to get a little more chipper!

Yay!

of daggers and thieves

November 8th sees our resident sprinter Mercury again returning to the sign of Scorpio, joining the Sun, Venus and Saturn. He will remain in the Phoenix’ realm until the 27th.

The shift from Libra to Scorpio is palpable. Our circle shrinks—our intelligence is utilized for the survival of our select few.

Suspicions rise and loyalties are calculated. Deep are the musings, when Mercury inhabits the sign of the Scorpion.

The Winged Messenger comes from under the Retrograde Shadow on Monday, the 10th to immediately trine Neptune in Pisces the next day.
