may 3rd—scorpio full moon—courting the dark side

William-Blake-Jerusalem-Plate-100-Art-ProjectJust before midnight tonight, the Scorpio Moon opposes the Taurus Sun for Beltane’s Full Flower Moon.

Beltane. Half way through Spring—that time in the cycle when all is locked in, FIXED and thriving.

Or is it?

Springtime is lovely and Taurus is abundant—budding flowers, warmth, soft breezes and green, green grass. But what of the darker impulses that come out when least convenient and most unexpected? When everything is so perfect?

Even though the sun is shining and the birds are chirping—the underbelly could be awash with parasites—quite literally or metaphysically.

and for the weekend—social and on the rise—may 1st – 3rd

Well, super late last night Mercury moved into Gemini.

Herbert-James-Draper-The-Vintage-MornOur minds are a flit and a flutter with strong mental awareness. All the better to accompany the Moon in her current journey through Libra—another extra social, extra intellectual Air sign.

Mars nor the Sun are activated for the weekend, so it will most likely be a lazy couple spent reading and chatting—lounging about with our brains doing the heavy lifting.

And it is within the next few days the tough and menacing Pluto/Uranus square will officially break apart. We can all sigh a sigh of collective relief. Sure, residuals will linger but the worst is OVER!!!!

The good times continue to roll as Luna sextiles Leo Jupiter and trines Gemini Venusbenefics that make for the best of party partners—after zapping the North Node. Our timing is impeccable and we can’t help but keep a jolly smirk across our faces as we skip through the weekend.

Even Mercury opposing Sagittarius Saturn on Sunday won’t hinder us too badly, for the passionate and wise Scorpio Moon will trine Pisces Neptune easing the depressive ruminations Father Time throws our way.

So, our task is to enjoy the stimulating conversations the sky’s bevy of cerebral Air will grant us and revel in the amped energies of the waxing Moon—should be quite a nice start to May.

Happy May Day!!!

for the weekend—the lion, the lady and the bull—april 24th – 26th

As we finish our week, we patiently hold tight to big-hearted emotions (Leo Moon trine Sagittarus Saturn) only to see them venus-between-terminal-gods-1895-explode by Sunday.

It may prove a nice occurrence—the ability to get good and clear on what our needs are, then pitch them back to the world in over-the-top dramatic flare (Leo Moon conjunct Leo Jupiter).

Constrict to ultimately expand. Emotional exhale—big time!!

We get shown exactly how long one can cling to a dying reality (Gemini Venus inconjunct Capricorn PlutoRx), if even only in the mind. How the stubborn powers-that-be rule supreme (Taurus Sun quincunx Sagittarius Saturn) and demand we acknowledge their authority.

Thus culminating in a mini-revolt, if you will, against the truths of our personal worlds vs. the truths of the greater humanity. We will search our every thinking moment on how to better the situation (Taurus Mecury sextile Pisces Chiron)—how to make it somehow work in the day-to-day.

Only to be born anew into individuality and fire (Gemini Venus sextile Aries Uranus)—evolving.

Have fun out there!

week ahead—grounding balance—april 13th – 16th

Our upcoming week shows extra emphasis on the talents of the Earth element—which is great, cuz we’re gonna need it!Friedrich-Caspar-David-ZZZ-The-Rock-Gates-in-Neurathen

For the week, the waning Moon will spend her time in Aquarius then Pisces.

While here, there is potential to get swept away with “out there” excitable daydreams and/or painful, unrealistic emotional dramas.

Uh oh.

But not likely. Let me explain.

We start the week similar to yesterday—Uranus/Pluto square still in effect, as well as the Mars/Neptune sextile. We are also getting accustomed to Venus now in Gemini.

Peachy.

And Tuesday sees Mercury leave Aries for Venus ruled, Taurus.

Lovely.

week ahead—buoyant recovery after the eclipse—april 6th – 9th

Ok, for our lovely Spring week ahead there is quite a bit of Jupterian activity to help us bounce back from the intense Eclipse/Full Moon over the past weekend.

edward-burne-jones-45-the-pilgrim-at-the-gate-of-idlenessThe waning Moon is now sailing through Scorpio, zinging Neptune and Pluto, and will end up in Sagittarius by week’s end—paying visit to Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus. Intensity of emotion and looming questions of ‘why?’ spice the atmosphere all week.

Pisces Chiron has moved out of tight sextile with Capricorn Pluto leaving us to experience the full strength of the Uranus/Pluto square at 15°/16°.  This points to an edgier demonstration of the revolution/evolution bite of the two. Sadly, gentle compassion during this tumultuous time will be harder to access.

The Aries Sun and Mercury exact their conjunctions with Uranus during the week, while Taurus Mars inconjuncts Sagittarius Saturn Rx in their first I/O/Q meeting. There are brilliantly brave ideas burning their way into reality nowadays and, if recognized, then given the proper structure, can take hold into something riotously vital.

Our minds not only get electrified by the genius of Uranus, but also smash into Pluto, God of the Underworld. The trick is to guard against unfounded suspicion and cynicism. These will only get in the way.

Instead, demand to see the positive in the most dire of situations, which will be aided my Mercury trining Leo Jupiter Rx for the King of Planet’s last interaction with a celestial body (other than the Moon) before turning direct on Wednesday. He revisits 12° – 22°—if you have points or planets here you get an extra boost to the joy and good fortune!!

The multitude of Spring Aries Fire combined with Jupiter’s about face signals a collective shift from contently navel gazing to a more pronounced need to interact with the outside world—conquer and leave your mark!

Ample, encouraging energy is available to bolster the work of Venus and Mars in Fixed Earth, while they labor to shore up the projects of Cardinal Fire.

Again, the Universe provides the building blocks for success.

vivacious escalation—double fire trines—april 2nd

Lots of fuel to burn today, guys!!

william-blake-1757-1827The Aries Sun is trining Leo JupiterRx at 12º, while Aries Mercury is trining Sagittarius Saturn at 4º.

So much Fire!!

And couple the above with the transiting Moon in efficient Virgo and since, Saturn is in play—well, there’s enough good sense to harness all the passion and verve into a productive outcome.

This is the energy we get to play with during the final days of build-up before the Full Moon/Eclipse on Saturday.

Tons of benevolent Masculine Fire with a waxing Moon before an Eclipse—get crackin’ ya’ll!!!

following through—sun trine saturn rx—march 25th

Today, the Aries Sun trines SaturnRx in Sagittarius. aries-1907

This is excellent energy to tweak projects started under all the Arian planets of late.  Conserving resources and organization will be relatively painless—all those mundane things that keep the wheels turning. Our sense of responsiblity won’t let the tedious errands go undone despite the Cardinal push to move on to the next thing already!!

Saturn rules reputations and social status. Fire signs are exuberant. The Aries Sun is illuminating our hard work and the patience necessary to see a job well done. Deserved accolades will be given under this influence. Those of us who have taken our obligations seriously will be commended.

It’s all about the follow through—in the day-to-day and with justified praise.

nobody said it was gonna be easy—march 21st thru 24th

Mikalojus_Konstantinas_Ciurlionis_-_CREATION_OF_THE_WORLD_IX_-_1905_-_6_VarsuvaWell, straight off the heals of yesterday’s glide into Spring, today we are faced with a bit of a reality check.

For the weekend into the week, Venus and Mercury will be put through the paces.

Venus is how we relate and bond—what we value. Mercury is our mind and communication style—how we learn. These are the areas of concentration for the next couple.

First, Taurus Venus begins her I/O/Q cycle with Sagittarius SaturnRX today at 4º.  This tense aspect creates a low-level feeling of self-consciousness, possibly about our values (Sagittarius) or even our physical looks and social relationships (Taurus). How we manage money and resources, too, may pop up.

Wherever Taurus is in our chart’s, we want the “good life”. The stable passions of a Fire Saturn can make it so. Fire is uncomfortable for Earth—so an adjustment (inconjunct) of perspective is needed.

the vanguard sets out—super new moon/vernal equinox/total solar eclipse—march 20th

warwickgobleWell, to say the Heavens have a lot going on tomorrow is an understatement.

Beautifully rare to have a super moon eclipse on the day of an equinox!

It all amounts to a potent time to set intentions—this time not just for a month but for the season and whole damn year!

Here’s a chronological list of all that happens:

  • ∼4AM – 8AM EST: a Total Solar Eclipse occurs that can been seen over parts of Europe, Africa, etc.
  • ∼5:30AM EST: the SuperMoon New Moon occurs at 29º Pisces
  • ∼2:00PM EST: the Aries Moon trines Sagittarius SaturnRx at 4º
  • ∼6:45PM EST: the Spring Equinox occurs as the Sun ingresses into Aries

During the length of the day, Taurus Venus approaches her inconjunct with SaturnRx and Pisces Mercury, his with Leo JupiterRx. Both of which perfect on Saturday.

And of course, the Uranus/Pluto square is still holding strong at 15º.

Alright. Let me parse the pieces of this special day—

ankle biters and dirty, rotten authority figures—saturn retrograde—march 13th – august 2nd

Well guys, it is time for the Planet of Karma’s 2015 retrograde cycle.

Vintage-Old-Book-Illustration-010Friday, Saturn began retracing his steps through the beginning degrees of Sagittarius and into the final degrees of Scorpio—from 5º back to 28º.

Father Time has been in his retrograde shadow since the beginning of last December and will remain so until the beginning of November this year. All in all, eleven months of this energy, and now we are at the strongest part—the actual retrograde.

Retrograde cycles are times of introspection. The energies of the planet go inward, where they ruminate, hopefully to be expressed in constructive ways, usually later after the retro is over.

Like most things, each planet, sign, house and aspect in astrology has a positive and a negative manifestation.  For Saturn, he rules authority, wisdom, thrift and discipline, but also fear, greed, frustration and depression.

Tomorrow, the 16th, Saturn squares newly ingressed Pisces Mercury, for the former’s first aspect while “moving backwards.”  This got me thinking about a few of the crappy Saturnian experiences I have had in my life–experiences that I’m certain have been shared by many of you.
