weekend, now—pivots and action points—june 12th – 14th

Rossetti_1915_Sing_Song_Girls_AngelSo, Mercury is now direct!! Neptune is now retrograde; Saturn is hovering at the zero degree. Jupiter and Uranus are still givin’ the good vibes from their fiery thrones and the Sun and Mars are of one mind in Gemini.

That’s the weekend in a nutshell, folks.

Luna will spend today and tomorrow in Taurus—slow and steady and oh, so sensual—interacting with Neptune and Chiron in Pisces and Venus in Leo. All nice for a relaxing weekend. She will then move to Gemini on Sunday, conjuncting Mercury and opposing Saturn as he regresses into Scorpio that night—gearing up mentally for the work week ahead.

The Sun overtakes Mars at 23° Gemini on Sunday, as well—beginning a new cycle for our Warrior.

In one way or another, everything mentioned leads back to the intellectualism of Gemini.

Ideas, ideas, ideas. Retracing to inject cheerful wit and bold genius.

Alright.

the necessity of truth—saturn through sagittarius—2014-2017

1tolkien_fermer_dzhajls_iz_hema_2002_Chjolushkin-6Another BIG change occurred Christmas week—Saturn moved from Scorpio to Sagittarius.

From Fixed Water to Mutable Fire—

Succedent Emotion to Cadent Creativity—

An Earth planet going through a Fire sign.

Saturn has been in Scorpio since October of 2012. And now will be in Sagittarius until December 21, 2017.

Here are a few key dates to remember:

  • Saturn retrogrades from March 14 to August 1, 2015 from 4º Sagittarius to 28º Scorpio
  • he returns to Scorpio on June 14, 2015
  • moves back into Sagittarius September 17, 2015
  • reaches a 2º orb of his square with Neptune in Pisces February 2015
  • the square perfects from November 19 to December 15, 2015
  • from March 25- August 13, 2016, retrogrades a 2nd time from 16º to 9º Sagittarius
  • retrogrades a 3rd time from April 5 to August 25, 2017 at 27º to 21º

So, what is this going to portend for the world at large,as well as we individuals chugging along?

I think we have already gotten a taste—right out of the gate!!

december 20th—solstice eve 2014: part 2

So, Mars moved into Aquarius on the 5th. But our dear Warrior has not contacted another planet (except the ever moving Moon) in major aspect since sextiling Saturn from Capricorn on December 1st.

Vintage-Old-Book-Illustration-037Twenty days!! That’s a long time, people.

Well, all of that is about to change and in a radical kinda way!!

This is Part 2 of my series on the build up to this year’s Winter Solstice, that is also the Capricorn New Moon, going down this Sunday, the 21st.

You can catch up with Part 1 right here, where I discussed Mercury, Neptune and Saturn’s status for the weekend.

Ok, so the God of War has been a lone wolf for almost 3 weeks, save an occasional visit from Luna.

On the  20th, all that changes.

december 1st—not the best day to shop

Alright.

Kate-Greenaway-Childrens-Illustrations-025Tomorrow, Capricorn Mars will sextile Scorpio Saturn at 27º.

Earth and Water mix nicely.

Mars will heed the caution of Saturn without much fuss.

But not so fast!  This doesn’t necessarily translate into a pleasant day in the real world.

If your plan is to get the bulk of holiday shopping done on Cyber Monday, this year, the heavens may thwart you at every turn.

At this time, you may find it is particularly hard to pick the perfect gift for loved ones.  Your gut will probably be telling you to move along and find something of more value.

Generally, when the God of War and the God of Time dance, there is a slowing of action.

Of the 12 zodiac signs, no others expect quality, down-to-your-toenails-quality, as do Capricorn and Scorpio. (Even mutable Virgo will ‘go with what works’ to keep the motion ‘in motion’, sacrificing excellence until next time.)

It may prove wise to simply wait until Mars moves to more optimistic Sagittarius on the 5th of December, where you are likely to get a resounding ‘yes!’ to things.

Sorry.

But if value is what you desire for particular purchases and your bank account will allow, then by all means use the Heavens to your advantage and keep at it. The instincts of Scorpio and steadfast Capricorn won’t disappoint. You will find the perfect whatever you desire.

Remember, it may take awhile.

the pupil and the professor

So, Tuesday, November 25th, is the day that dear Mercury bumps smack into Scorpio Saturn.

Vintage-Black-and-White-Clipart-009The image in my mind is the distracted awkward freshman with the untapped intellectual goldmine lurking below his immature, social ineptitude, who finds himself in the professor-from-hell’s 8AM class that first, innocent, Fall semester.

The professor is soooooo damn intimidating and scary. The rigors of the syllabus jump from the page in a fit of ‘roided-out rage.

Why even bother dragging your sorry ass out of bed, when the ‘smart’ thing is to drop the course anyway?

But there is something magnetic about the old man’s way of being.  How the wisdom oozes from his aura. How the twinkling eyes promise a Pandora’s plethera of knowledge.

Something motivates to carry on.

There is always the danger of depressive ideation when Mercury flies under the rings of Saturn, but that is merely the worst possible outlook. The bright side is the pay off of hard work and sacrifice.

Saturn is the old man that knows what he’s talking about and knows how to get the goods.

You have to listen and then follow through.

YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK.

There is no other way.

why so serious?—sun/venus/saturn conjunct—november 12th – 18th

Currently in the skies, Venus and the Sun are about 4º apart.The-Dragon-with-Seven-Heads

The two were cazimi on the 24th of October, and then the Goddess of Love overtook the Sun shortly before Halloween, although she remains combust at the moment.

On November the 12th, Aphrodite will conjunct Father Time at 25º of Scorpio.  Then on the 18th, the Sun will follow suit while Venus makes her move into gregarious Sagittarius.

The most dramatic day of this week long event will be Friday the 14th, where Venus/Saturn/Sun (all within 5º) will square the Moon and Jupiter in Leo.

If you are in possession of planets or points amongst the last decan of the Fixed signs, especially Scorpio and Leo, this will be a powerful few days for you.

of daggers and thieves

November 8th sees our resident sprinter Mercury again returning to the sign of Scorpio, joining the Sun, Venus and Saturn. He will remain in the Phoenix’ realm until the 27th.

The shift from Libra to Scorpio is palpable. Our circle shrinks—our intelligence is utilized for the survival of our select few.

Suspicions rise and loyalties are calculated. Deep are the musings, when Mercury inhabits the sign of the Scorpion.

The Winged Messenger comes from under the Retrograde Shadow on Monday, the 10th to immediately trine Neptune in Pisces the next day.

october 10th—moon adventures through Taurus

moonqueenOn the 10th, the transiting Moon pulls some energy to your Taurean house throughout the day.

Early morning around 8 AM, she inconjuncts Pisces Chiron and Libra Venus to form a lovely Yod.  These three conjoining point to the ability to release emotional wounds through balancing and beautifying the area occupied by Taurus. Turning pain into artistic expression.

Next at about lunch time, Luna forms a second Yod with Sagittarius Mars and the Libra Sun.  This is a much more action orientated event. Drawing power from the Full Moon’s Kite formation, the Moon filters the fiery will to act of Mars/Sun to work, albeit emotionally, on the sector of your chart dealing with self-worth and esteem.

Lastly, the Taurus Moon opposes Scorpio Saturn late in the evening, applying the breaks to the day. Emotions will seem heavy and worrisome, though the silver lining is always impeccable form through Saturnian discipline and patience.

The yin/yang is well-balanced and splendid—passive beauty of the morning leads to assertive spirit in the afternoon.

september 17th-21st—what ya lovin’ and who’s lovin’ you?

Oh my, Venus will be participant in three configurations involving big boy outer planets for the remainder of the week.  It is a line up of challenges and potential breakthroughs.  This is the week to attract a voracious healing to the house Venus is transiting in your natal.

So, it all starts with Chiron.  If you’ve ever doubted your attractiveness or desirability as a partner (and who hasn’t???), Wednesday the 17th, will be a gold mine for you.  Virgo Venus is opposing Pisces Chiron and this speaks to healing issues of self-esteem.

Virgo is practical, therefore this is a real chance to make heuristic alterations to how we view our worth.  It won’t feel the best to be sure but there’s a reason Venus is who she is and Chiron is who he is—have faith.   The onslaught of negative media images and inadequate cultural ideas as to what makes a woman and a man worthy is exhausting to even the most confident of us.

This hits harder for some, but we all have our doubts to work on.  Use this energy, people, to make a change, no matter how minute, toward a stronger core of armour-propre.

september 9th-11th—a furious inner excitement

“a certain climate of excitement of the mind . . . people with spirit,   a furious inner excitement, a burning flame within . . .”

—Werner Herzog on what it takes

For most of this work week, we get to experience some outer planet love brought up close and personal with the help of Mercury, Venus, the Sun and Moon. (Mars gets some action on the weekend!)  It will be bit of a roller coaster, dipping low, then rocketing high, only to level out to a comfortable, real world stability.

Before we get started, I want to remind all that Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, the Moon’s Nodes and Chiron are currently retrograde and that means almost half the energy in the heavens has an introspective bend to it—a pensive ardor.

8yearsAlright, shall we?

On Tuesday the 9th, Libra Mercury squares Capricorn Pluto Rx.    This is Cardinal Air knocking against Cardinal Earth.  Square energy is tense with an imminent need to do something about it.  The common thread for the day will be raw communication.  More than a few of us may get pulled in to a pit viper debate to the death.  Libra likes to chat and mingle and certainly won’t shy away from a lively battle of words and there is precious little flowery about Pluto.  Cardinal signs expect to be in control, so there will likely be a twinge of suspicion floating around about who is actually wearing the pants in a given situation.  The temptation to go for the jugular will be palpable.  Not much room today for the flexible and sensitive.

But having been forewarned, you could forego the negative above and use this mojo to initiate (Cardinal) a brilliant idea you’ve been pondering.  Use the Libra to balance and level, then put the Capricorn to use vetting a worthy structure of operation.  Or you can have a sincere intellectually riveting conversation or two about the state of humanity and our place in making it better.  Blunt isn’t bad, if the time has come.  Could go either way.

Hold tight, because Wednesday will be night and day from the previous 24 hours.  It’s looking to be the highlight of the week, with 3 exhilarating events.
