the goat goes for a swim

Neptune_Rings1Capricorn Mars will sextile Pisces Neptune on Saturday, November 1st.

The Warrior gets swimming lessons of patience and self-sacrifice from the God of the Sea—such as, reaching the top isn’t as important as HOW you get there. Brusque bureaucracy will demonstrate a tinge of otherworldly compassion.

As a whole, we will have a better flexibility today, for Mutable Pisces will help bend Cardinal Cappy’s staunch discipline.  Making a rather pliable go-get’um attitude that can roll agilely with the punches.

Our sense of how it all works will be heightened, the big picture will be illuminated brightly. The grand scheme will come into focus—a vision the Goat can tuck away for a rainy day.

october 27th—waves crashing

Monday of next week is going to be an emotional one, folks.

Arthur-Rackham-Illustration-016Scorpio Sun conjunct Venus will trine Pisces Neptune and the watery abyss engulfs us in a glamorous mantle.

All the while, the transiting Sagittarius Moon revives the grand-Fire-trine with Leo Jupiter to form a Kite formation along the Libra/Aries Nodal Axis.

Remember, with the Nodal Axis as a player, collective lessons to bolster our future souls are at the forefront.

Fire and Water are the zodiac’s emoters and considering newly ingressed Sun and Venus in Scorpio, the dealings of the day will be serious as a heart attack.

Fiery, sentimental, Water works.

Can you say ‘passion’?

october 23rd—bathing in burgundy

Thursday, October 23rd at around 5PM, the Sun, Venus and Moon together move into the Fixed Water sign of Scorpio, creating a Partial Solar Eclipse at 0°. This marks the answer to the Total Lunar Eclipse earlier this month.

If you have planets or points at the first degrees of the Water or Fixed signs—yep, pay attention!

Regardless, whichever house this activates will be of special importance at this time.

We have been in a delightfully simmering limbo since the eclipse of 8th of October and now there will be somewhat of a release.

I say ‘somewhat’ for this is a New Moon.  And at this time, we are setting intentions for the Full Moon in two weeks.

So, there will be no cataclysmic eruption of energy, but rather the undulating leap frogging of chronological astrological events that are working to rhythmically nudge us toward our necessary futures. The universe is kindly but sternly showing us the way.

Very well.

What exactly does all this Scorpio energy have to offer us?

october 3rd—beauty of a day

On  Friday the 3rd, Venus in Libra will inconjunct Pisces Neptune and also, trine the Moon traveling through Aquarius.

splendidnebulaFirst, the inconjunct.

This is the third and final interplay between Aphrodite and the Sea God in their  inconjunct/opposition/quincunx dynamic for the year.  Friday is your make-up test to incorporate the lessons of these two planetary guides.

When Venus and Neptune dance, you are being asked to get in touch with the glamorous side of spirituality.  Neptune is a large outer planet, therefore he acts upon Venus, the faster inner PERSONAL planet.  Venus attracts and Neptune dreams.

september 27—mercury into scorpio—razor sharp

“A truth that’s told with bad intent beats all the lies you can invent.”—William Blake (Mercury in Scorpio)

What is the fundamental difference between Libra and Scorpio?

It’s simple, really.  Libra flints and flutters on the surface with no desire to puncture the seal and reveal all that messiness underneath, while Scorpio lives and breathes buried beneath the murky depths of  ‘messiness’.

On Saturday the 27th, Mercury moves from the sign of balance to the sign of extremes.  Instead of the charming, diplomatic sparring we’ve been amusing ourselves with as of late, our mental activities will be turned to the more authentic, the more crucial, the more intense.

Scorpio plays for keeps.

september 21st—fish out of water?

Mars has been in Sagittarius for a little over a week now.   On Sunday, he will square Neptune in Pisces.

What could Sagittarius Mars garner from anything Piscean?

First some background.

Neptune is the God of the Sea, his is a realm of sorrow and bliss,  hopes and disillusion, guilt and compassion.  He is the ruler of Pisces—this stretch of stars are his home turf.  To say he is strong here is a gross understatement.

The Philosophical Warrior demands truth, education and travel, but above all he wants freedom.  Mars is beyond comfortable in the 9th sign of the zodiac.  Sometimes a wee bit too comfortable with all that fiery, blunt courage.

This is a good sparring match, though Neptune has the obvious upper hand.

Last month, Scorpio Mars trined our Sea God.  This is Water Action interacting with Water Dreams.  Two planets couldn’t fortify one another better.  Water simply understands Water.  But, unfortunately, maybe a little too much.  With this exchange we run the risk of withdrawing into ourselves, where it is safe and familiar.  Why tackle much in the big bad outside world when our own active fantasies are so satisfying?  Good question.

Trines are easy but there is no built-in check and balance to make it definitely easy progressive.

But this time around it’s Water interacting with Fire.

This pair share a Mutable quality.  Sagittarius and Pisces both have an innate ability to adapt to any situation.  They are resourceful and quick on their feet.  Fire is gut instinct and Water is emotional intelligence.  They have basically the same endgame (which is loosely to save the world!), Fire simply goes about things differently than Water, and vice versa.

So, what’s gonna go down?

Pisces gives our Warrior the emotional acumen to understand the fallout his actions might incur.  He becomes a kinder, gentler soldier.  His far-reaching philosophies take on the timeless righteousness of undeniable truth.  And the Archer EATS that right up!

This is square energy, therefore it is stimulating.  It is arousing—something has to be done about it—it ain’t goin’ away.  Their’s is the promise of Sagittarius Mars’ unparalleled vitality fulfilling the endless expansive aspirations of Pisces Neptune.

On Sunday, the 21st, the heavens will be alive with this awesomeness.  All the better given what Virgo Venus has been up to.

Compassionate action on tap to spackle the cracks in those walls.

Yeah.

september 17th-21st—what ya lovin’ and who’s lovin’ you?

Oh my, Venus will be participant in three configurations involving big boy outer planets for the remainder of the week.  It is a line up of challenges and potential breakthroughs.  This is the week to attract a voracious healing to the house Venus is transiting in your natal.

So, it all starts with Chiron.  If you’ve ever doubted your attractiveness or desirability as a partner (and who hasn’t???), Wednesday the 17th, will be a gold mine for you.  Virgo Venus is opposing Pisces Chiron and this speaks to healing issues of self-esteem.

Virgo is practical, therefore this is a real chance to make heuristic alterations to how we view our worth.  It won’t feel the best to be sure but there’s a reason Venus is who she is and Chiron is who he is—have faith.   The onslaught of negative media images and inadequate cultural ideas as to what makes a woman and a man worthy is exhausting to even the most confident of us.

This hits harder for some, but we all have our doubts to work on.  Use this energy, people, to make a change, no matter how minute, toward a stronger core of armour-propre.

september 12th & 13th—going mental

This Friday, Libra Mercury will inconjunct Chiron in Pisces.  Picking up where Monday’s SuperMoon left off, our minds will be filled with ruminations of old wounds and emotional injury.

Back in August, Virgo Mercury opposed Chiron—this was a simpler exchange of the Mind with the Healer.  Oppositions are a direct route—inconjuncts are not so straightforward.  August’s opposition saw Earth and Water swap energy—two elements that share astrological affinity.  This week’s quincunx is between Air and Water—not so much sympathy with these two.

In Virgo, it’s all about clutter.  Mercury Virgo deals with the cluttered mind, wanting/needing our mental functions to be streamlined, efficient—no dead weight.  Pisces Chiron aided Mercury here with forgiving our cluttered mental spaces and making room for compassion.  Not every thought and communication will be perfect.  And that’s ok.

Well, in Libra, the mind wants/needs social stimulation.  It’s all about relating.  Balancing the pros and cons of societal interaction.   So, given that, what does the Piscean Maverick  have for our Messenger God this time?  It will be a clumsy attempt at healing how we relate to others.  I say clumsy because quincunxes aren’t the easiest of aspects to tap in to.  More about that here.  You will need to use your brain and do a bit of navel-gazing to get it working.

september 3rd—the light working with the dark

Wednesday, September 3rd, the Virgo Sun trines Capricorn Pluto Rx at the 11th degree.

If there is one thing Earth signs need in this life, it’s WORK.    Wherever this affects your chart—today will be a great day to get your workaholic on!!

Although, the 3rd is the day of the exact trine, this configuration has been gaining strength for the last week and will fade into next week, so there is plenty time to use it fully.  And you are most likely already experiencing it.

So, whenever the Sun and Pluto meet up, there is an increase in power and passion.  The ability to pursue one’s goals is accentuated and your capacity to concentrate on minute details will be emphasized.  Additionally, you will be given the chance to shine light (Sun) on the darker (Pluto) facets underscored by the placement of this alignment.
