december 17th—thoughts toward Cappy praxis

The sign of Capricorn is heating up just in time for the spectacular Winter Solstice/New Moon on the 21st!!

Venus ingressed to the sign of the Goat last Wednesday and this week it is Mercury’s turn.

Florence-Mary-Anderson-Illustration-024Even dear Mars in Aquarius shares an affinity with all planets transiting the 10th sign in the fact that Saturn used to be the 11th sign’s ruler too, way back when.

So, on the 17th, the Winged Messenger will move from Sagittarius to Capricorn.

From Mutable Fire to Cardinal Earth.

With this change, thoughts and communication will get a bit more serious, some of the jolly will be replaced with rational thoughts of holiday budgets and proper decorum.

Ah yes, but the flip side is Mercury will team with Venus to give each of us the perfect tools to create or simply carry on the seasonal traditions that make this time of year so meaningful.

Yes, Capricorn is the sign of tradition and steadfast cultural mores. He gets greatest satisfaction by building upon the past. Remembering our histories and respecting our collective customs make the Goat’s heart flutter.

All the little things we do this time of year simply because someone older did them when we were growing up are the requisite Cappy fodder.

Don’t resist it—the Sagittarius party is coming to an end.  The Saturnine need to hunker down and horde time honored habits and ways of life is at hand.

‘Tis the Season.

december 14th—uranus square pluto—thorn in your side

Well, in the Heavens, as many of you probably already know, a battle is raging between Pluto and Uranus.

Voyager_Uranus_732X520Since 2012, there have been 5 exact squares and today, December 14th, the 6th will occur, with the final going down next Spring.

Pluto has recently gone direct and is interacting with Uranus Rx this time at 12º 35′ Capricorn and Aries, respectively.

When all is said and done, from the 6th degree to the 15th of Cardinal Fire and Earth, a metamorphosis of monumental proportion will have transpired.

For the last few years, nationally and globally, stargazers have been speculating beforehand, then reporting on afterwards, the mundane, explosive, effects of this dynamic.

There has also been quite an analysis of the the past conjunction between these two leviathans back in 1965/1966. And here is an excellent article comparing the waxing/waning cycles of Pluto/Capricorn throughout the last centuries and into this one.

As for the current square, I personally like this take. And here is another. And yet, another.

Yes, yes, much has been said about it all.

But you know what, I feel an important nuance has been overlooked and I would like to highlight it, now.

the goat continues his ascent . . .

The-Knight--Death-And-The-DevilOn the day Mercury passes the Shadow degree of Scorpio, Capricorn Mars also perfects his conjunction with Pluto.

Those of us with any planets or points at the 11th degree of a Cardinal or Earth sign will feel the effects the mightiest.

Wow. At the moment, the skies are brimming with Scorpio energy!

Sun, Venus, Saturn and direct moving Mercury all occupy the sign. The former two are squaring Jupiter from Leo, which means the expansion of Solar and Venusian Scoprionic themes, while the latter pair are getting ready to conjunct on the 25th.

So, the Warrior melding with Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto, further adds to the Fixed Water motley crew of the current heavens.

september 14th—little miss perfect meets the devil and she likes it

On September 14th, Venus in Virgo trines the God of the Underworld in Capricorn.  It portends to be a weekend of astute psychological acumen.

The Goddess of Love is shy and self-effacing in Virgo.  Capricorn Pluto is the powerfully destructive overlord currently tapped to dismantle the status quo.  One would think it would be a terrible idea to have them knock boots, but there you’d be wrong.

birthofvenusSure, Pluto transits can be emotionally disastrous—moody and manipulative.  But trines involving this power player are much friendlier, especially with Venus as a partner.  Both planets are traveling through Earth signs.  They have a fundamental understanding.  Virgo appreciates Cappy’s demand for discipline and patience, while the Goat can get his head around the Virgin’s necessity for obsessive attention to detail.

Capricorn has his cardinal initiative and Virgo can always rely on her mutable flexibility.  Together they bolster one another.

Pluto is the planet of regeneration, Venus of relationship.  This transit will have a beautiful regenerative quality to it—breathing life back into areas that were for all intents and purposes dead in the water.  Maybe a project, maybe a relationship, maybe your hard won set of values (Venus).

Things are going to appear destined, with a solid atmosphere of ‘meant to be.’  Your desire to share secrets will become acute, for your instincts are ablaze with a fervent feel for intimacy.  Creativity will reach ardent depths demonstrating a precise psychological eye for how and why humans do what we do.

Yep, this weekend Aphrodite is attracting a rebirth.  So dust off your scallop shells and practice up on your contrapposto stances, folks—Love, Beauty and Value are up for renovation.

august 25th & 26th—lady leo has suiters a’calling

Venus is about half way done with her yearly summer trip through the fire sign of Leo.  The beginning of this coming week many suiters will come a’calling on Miss Venus.  Let’s she how she may respond to their advances.

On August 25th, the Goddess of Love will inconjunct the Maverick from Pisces.  Venus is attraction and our sense of worth related to how attractive we feel and how well we attract financial security.  Chiron is a wound that never heals.  His energy is of helping others with precisely the injuries he cannot recover fully from.  Together, we get to question our value in regards to the house Venus is transiting.  She is pulling healing Chironic energy to this area.  With Chiron, ‘healing’ may be as simple as a minor change in perspective.

Sounds easy, but inconjuncts are tricky— to get the rewards you have to manually adjust.  Leo is the lion, but here she is the bashful fluffy kitty and any body in Pisces is undoubtedly on the introverted side.  Think of 2 shy teenagers with crushes, who have to force themselves to even smile at one another.

Then on Tuesday, charming attention loving Leo Venus will square steamy Mars/Saturn in Scorpio.  The same day she will also be in trine aspect with electric Uranus from Aries.

healing through inspiration, transformation and fortification: part 1

From July 27th to August 3rd, lovely transiting Venus in Cancer is the focus of 2 major aspect configurations.

Along with Venus, Chiron (healing), Uranus (inspiration), Pluto (transformation) and Saturn (fortification) are the dancers in this waltz and it just screams healing with a capital “H”!

In this 2 part series, I’m gonna break down the energies and show ya how you can put this mojo to good use.

Ok, let’s start from the top—Cancer wants security, predictability and comfort.  Whichever natal house cusp Cancer is, is where you will have these requirements, more than most other places.  For example, Cancer on the 7th house cusp wants a partner who is secure and provides security, is predictable and feels comfortable.  On the 3rd house cusp, the native would want day-to-day activities and a neighborhood environment that demonstrates security, predictability and comfort.  Even with no personal planets in Cancer, the house where Cancer resides is the area where you have the capability, and necessity, to nurture.
